375 H&H Optic

mate letting off the 375,normally id just use the open sights, though at 3 power that old scope pulls in a lot of light. And yes it will ping you in the eye at 10 power if you climb the stock..hmm

I have been happy with a Leupold 3Xi 1.5-5 heavy reticle, but it may not be as much magnification as you want.

Here’s a good thread about 375 scopes. I use to have a 1.5-5 on mine. I upgraded to a 2-10 Leupold. I think it gives a lot more flexibility.

For my upcoming elephant/buffalo hunt I am using a Leupold Patrol VX6 1x6 because that is all I am hunting. For buffalo hunts where I may consider shooting at longer ranges, I run a Leupold VX5 2x10 or VX6 in 2x12. I feel dollar for dollar Leupold's are a good value.

I have a Trijicon Accupoint 3x9x40 on my .375 Ruger, works great, never lost zero even when I took on a 24 hour roadtrip for a deer hunt recently.

I’ve got a Leupold VX5 in 2-10 with CDS and Firedot reticle on my 375 H&H. I feel like it’s an ideal scope for the 375. Whatever you do, get an illuminated reticle like the Firedot, its a game changer.

Meopta makes the exact same scope for $1000 less, probably not as nice, but very close
When I scoped my Defiance .308 my top choice would have been the Swarovski Z6i 1.7-10. I couldn't bring myself to spend the about $2600 on one at the time, so I also considered the comparable Meopta, but couldn't find one to try out. In the end, I decided to roll the dice on a 1.5-9x44 GPO for the .308. I was happy enough with it that I bought a second one for a .375 Ruger, but I still haven't compared it back to back with a Swarovski. I should probably avoid doing that as it could get very expensive.

I paid about $850 each for the GPO's. They have the magnification range I want on both that .308 and a .375, illumination, and some simple mil holdovers which I like for range shooting but never really need for hunting. I didn't want a straight tube, especially on the .308, since the larger objective is so much brighter at dawn and dusk.

The Z6i appears to be down to $2000 now, which I probably would have paid if I didn't already have the GPO's. The new Z5i+ 2-10 at about $1850 would be another strong contender. The Meopta 1.7-10 looks to be about $1600. I'd probably buy the Z6i for the extra $400 just because I like the illumination controls better on it and it's a bit lighter, but that's more personal preference than anything else.

The Leupold VX5 2-10 is also well-liked here, but I'm not really a fan of my 3-15 version. Glass is nice, but I think that Leupold's build quality has slipped a bit in recent years. They do offer the best scope caps money can buy though. I personally think that my GPO's are nicer scopes for less money.

I'm a big fan of Trijicon scopes as well, especially the Accupoints. Unfortunately, they skip from a 1-6x24 to a 2.5-12.5x42 in the newer generation. If they offered something like a 1.5-8x42 or 2-10x42 with a fixed parallax I'd have bought two of those instead of the GPO's. I do have the 2.5-12.5 on my .300WM and like it but thought it was just a bit much for the .308 and .375. In the older generation Accupoints they offer a 3-9x40 and a 2.5-10x56. I think that they might be a little short on eye relief for a .375 and getting the 2.5-10x56 low enough might be a challenge. If Trijicon has a model with the features you want I don't think you can go wrong for the price. It's virtually guaranteed that I'll be buying a 1-6 Accupoint once my .458WM project is done.

what are you running on your 375 that is currently available?
Swarovski Z6, 1.7-10x42, with illuminated reticle. Rusan swing mounts with 6 screws on the front ring.
Rifle ZKK 602, in 375 H&H.

Iv had a 2.5 x8 Leupold on my 375 for many years . Many hunts here and there. Never felt a need to change. It is a 1” tho.
Backpacking, horse hunts, rafting, safari trucks, trackers and worse of all me and my hard usage.

If you ever make it to STL I am happy to show you some meopta's. I have a half dozen of them

I faced the same dilemma with my future Blaser R8 375H&H and finally opted for the Kahles k16i, why?

The X1-6 magnification range is sufficient from 0 to 300 m, and I would never shoot beyond this distance with a caliber such as the 375 H&H, and even then, I would make sure to use a very soft bullet for any shot beyond 100-150 m to ensure expansion and effectiveness on game (in my case, this would be the 270 gr Interlock).
For DG, I will limit myself to 0-100 m with a 300 gr Bonded bullet (A-Frame/DGX Bonded) or Monolithics (TSX) + possibly Solid. The PoI difference at 30 m (first zero) between all these bullets should be negligible, allowing me to use a single scope setting for all of them! It is, of course, the trajectory of the Intelrock that I will enter into my telemetric binoculars for the automatic calculation of elevation corrections beyond 180-200m (zero 2).

On this Khales model, you can add (and I will) an exposed turret as an option, click value 01.Mil. On Swaro model, you cannot..

the k16i has top eye relief even at X6, excellent field of view, excellent clarity, excellent reticle (SM1), excellent illimunation

Finally, the K16i package offers reasonable weight, ruggedness, and proven reliability in the field.
It is probably the best LPVO riflescope available on the market today for fast and accurate shooting at short to middle range.

Leupold VX1-6 would have been my second choice.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
