.375 H&H for the Win!

All a man on a budget needs to hunt the entire world over (in terms of big game), are a pair of Winchester Model 70s. One in .30-06 Springfield and one in .375 Holland & Holland Magnum.

Love them both but prefer the straight stock design on the African. The timber they used is also quite nice on both. If you were to spend some time applying oil to them, it would really bring out the figure in either of those stocks.
Please let me know the correct way to do this. If you could point me to the right type oil and how often and how much to apply. Thank you!

It’s funny now these are the only rifles I have for hunting. I have a carbine in 5.56 but all the rest in my safe are shotguns as I mainly compete in sporting clays and enjoy wing shooting.

I’ll even carry a shotgun on calling stands hunting for varmints. I’ve sold my .308 and 22-250 so from coyotes to buffalo, this is what I’m working with rifle wise. For now anyway haha. Of course with my brothers there are plenty other rifles to grab if a smaller caliber is preferred.

I know exactly squat about what oil to use or how to properly do it. The timer stocked firearms we have were factory finished to a high level and I've never even looked up how to do it.

I'm sure one of the other AH members who's more familiar with this can assist.

Oh man, beautiful rifles for sure! I’d love to see those if you get a chance to take pics sometime.
I need to take some better pictures but here are some I had on my phone

Wow!! All beautiful but I’m loving that buffalo on the 416!!
Win 70 375 H&H. The king of rifles and the only one anyone needs for anything from mice to mastodons.

Thanks! I do agree the buffalo looks the best of all of them. The 375 we bought new and the other two we acquired over the years since. The 375 has never left Georgia, but I think the 416 and 458 have been hunted with. I wish they could tell their stories!

Very cool set to own! I grabbed a beautiful Safari Express years ago at the gun library at the Fort Worth Cabela’s.

My brother took it to Africa and then wanted to buy it since he shot his first buffalo with it. Wasn’t gonna say no to that. Haha

I’ve never seen one with a stock like that since. Maybe it was a supergrade stock but it does not say supergrade on the rifle.

On the other hand, I won’t feel too bad about the wear these two rifles get because they are not as high grade walnut!

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
