Barnesbullets.com has load data on it for your bullet with IMR 4831. It runs from 64 3 to 74.7 grains

I love Alliant A 4000 seating bullet to the middle groove if it will fit your magazine and chamber properly.

I’ve loaded quite a few with H4831 and IMR 4831 for my 300s - I used a mid load and worked up to a load just below max - that’s where I found the most consistent group sizes. Would like to of tried some RL powders but none on hand

I've killed quite a few with that bullet. A couple w/300WM.

Most w/30-06.

No escapees. None went over 10 yards after being hit. I don't like the ballistics past 350 yards, but wouldn't hesitate at 300.

Were I going to shoot more than 300 and maybe out to 500-600 I'd go with the 165/168 grain TSX just to get the better ballistics. If it was going to be beyond 500 more often than not I would not use a TSX/TTSX.

Barnes told me the 168 was designed around the 30-06 and the 165 for the 300 WM. So I loaded the 165 TTSX in my 300 WM ahead of H4831. Extremely accurate! It has taken Texas exotics, coyote, elk to date. Will likely go on my elk hunt again this year.
Picture of a one hole 3 shot group during my load development. CAUTION: this is .4 grain below Barnes. MAX. A friend’s rifle shoots similar a couple of grains below the Barnes 79.9 MAX and has worked well for him on elk and bighorn. My velocity is above Barnes’s.

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
