Thank you very much. You're right, it's something I've dreamed of for a long time!Congratulations on an incredible safari with an absolutely beautiful rifle there sir! That's the type of hunt that dreams are made of.
thank you sir!Beautiful bull. Beautiful rifle. Congrats!
Well, I'm booked for a buffalo hunt with Buzz next summer, and I think it would be awesome to hunt a buffalo with the double.Congratulations on an amazing hunt. Glad everything worked on on getting the rifle in time. It was great following along from the start of the build to her first blood.
What’s in store for her now?
They are truly magnificent creatures, worthy of respect. I think elephant hunting is playing a vital role in their conservation and I want to do my small part to support that, for as long as I'm able.Well done sir, I know what you mean about walking up beside an elephant; my first African animal was a tuskless and when we walked up to it I thought “now that’s big game” only to be later humbled when I walked up to another hunters dead bull.
Thank you!Congratulations. Fantastic hunt, thank you for sharing, love the hat as well.
You know, that's not a terrible idea...Think you may have to send it back to the engravers to get the name officially put on! Thanks for the great write up. What boots are you wearing and what did you do with the rest of your time?
@Sourdough did just that with Buzz. Took a big bag, then completed his big 5with a double, then went back to repeat it all on a single hunt (minus rhino) with his new double and posted the entire hunt on AH.Well, I'm booked for a buffalo hunt with Buzz next summer, and I think it would be awesome to hunt a buffalo with the double.
Buzz is already fully booked for 2028, but he said he's willing to allocate me one of their Maitengwe slots (would have to do with another PH and I already have one in mind...), and then I'm booked with Buzz again in Maitengwe for 2029. It's unbelievable how far in advance you have to book these slots!
And I also have a weird desire to take a big warthog with the double! Buzz told me he's had several clients who have taken a big bag of African game, but then decide to go back and hunt them all again with a double... wouldn't be a terrible idea, would it?
Thank you for your kind words; great idea! My heritage is Scottish but I don't think I could face those thorns in a kilt the way Marc did! Respect!Congratulations.
Thank you for the writeup. It was done very well. I also admire your photos.
Have talked with Buzz a few times but to date haven't had the chance to hunt with him
Like the name for your WR, looks like a rifle of a lifetime.
Since your bull and the Rigby bull are so close in tusk weight you might get the WR and Rigby guys together at SCI and drink a toast to your bulls.
I had the chance to meet Alan in camp as he was finishing up and we were coming in. A true gentleman and very enjoyable for good conversation at the mopane fire and the dinner table. I could easily see that he would be fun to hunt with, and not only his personality but also his great reputation as a skilled and experienced PH.@Sourdough did just that with Buzz. @375Fox is a huge fan of Alan Shearing. I believe that’s who he hunts with every time while hunting with CMS.
While I haven’t hunted the area, only driven it Matetsi 6 might provide some opportunities for a bigger bag, and a solid warthog. Last week of September through October should be really good Elephant hunting.
Biggest density of BIG pigs I’ve ever seen was in Coutada 11 just an FYI. @Ku-winda and his family have killed some hammers over the years.
Yes sir. One of the really cool things was being up close and hearing the sounds and vocalizations they make. That stomach rumble. The branches breaking and big trees coming down, and the occasional bugle or squeal. Truly amazing animals. They need space and we have to find a sustainable way to preserve that for them or it will all just be converted to crops and cattle with the burgeoning human populations. I think conservation hunting can and will play an important role in that.Thank you for including us in your hunt. Elephant hunting is a rewarding but emotional experience. They are truly amazing creatures. Congratulations.
He really does; he says they're actually very comfortable. He has added some tire tread to the soles to toughen them up. We did a lot of walking and they don't slow him down at all!Great report, really great photos. Good hunting.Waidmannsheil.
But what never ceases to amaze me is that Buzz is always hanging out with Crocs.![]()
