Lets give you a bit of education. He didn't say he lost the pigs, just that they ran, and they will. Every pig I hit with my 30-30 or 356, 35 Whelan and up dropped right there. Not the case with the 223, 270, 308. The 140 grin pills are coming out of my 270 a tad over 3000FPS. The difference with the 30-30 and 356 is they have a good size bit of flat nosed lead or a good round nose lead at the front. If I used those types of bullets instead of spitzers the I would get the same results as the 30-30 and 356. 223, to me is way under gunned for pigs, gotta hit them behind the ear or in the neck with follow up to be sure.
Those pigs hit with the 270, 308 that do not drop on the spot do not go to far, but if heart shot can cover over 100mts and be hard to find.
