Easy for me because I own only 5 guns in 4 calibers. Leaves my with one slot open on my license.

Just to through a spanner in the works, you can only use single shot rifles.
What make and calibres would you choose
Sorry haven't been on.not in the best of health at the moment.
Thanks for all your comments

It’s a good thing I live in Texas so this doesn’t apply to me. If I was forced to pick 4 calibers you have my list.I haven’t read through but the AR or any semi-auto isn’t an option for civilians.

I don’t think it’s 4 calibres but some might be restricted to 4 firearms.
For an Aussie let’s start with a .22 rimfire, a .22 centrefire and a .30 cal hunting rifle before considering a shotgun.
That leaves out anything bigger if required.
But if you find a .17rimfire for a little distance or run a thermal , night vision or red dot for scrub hunting you are gonna be restricted at 4. If you hold land or compete in target shooting you might be able to to have more.
One thing is for sure they have not yet shown the options to request a the proposed exemption's under the new rules.

So now you know why legal American gun owners refuse to hive an inch. Going along with the crowd has proven to be a mistake. Same thing applies to any other right that is challenged by the Liberal.Left (freedom of speech seems to be next on their list).I don’t have a problem with an AR used legally.
The OP is an Aussie so pretty much across Australia they are banned for target and hunting license holders. Professional pest compilers are the exception and they have to jump through hoops.
30+ years ago AR15 rifles were easily bought over the counter in some states so long as you had a firearms licence.
Some neighbouring states already restricted the AR15, AR10 and the Aussie made Lithgow L1A1 SLR because they had a Pistol grip and were adopted as a military rifle. Where they were legal they did not restrict the sale on interstate buyers. Just a bit of useless information for you.
I’ve got many other calibers but this right here covers everything I can imagine caliber wise. I don’t mind substituting in semi autos on the smaller rounds!.22lr - bolt action
.223 - bolt action
.308Win - bolt action
.375H&H - double
These cover everything.

12 or 20 gaI'm from the great state of NSW Australia and in their wisdom the government of said state wants to limit the average licenced shooter to a limit of four calibres.
I'm not entirely sure if that includes rimfire and shotguns, for this exercise we will only limit to centre fire.
My four calibres are
22 250
30 06
9.3x62
404j
Should cover anything I want to hurt anywhere in Australia and overseas
Let the fun begin

What makes you want 2 big bores? I mean I want a dozen big bores, but within the limited hypothetical? What does one do the other can’t and what animals would you use each for?My latest assessment:
30-06
20 gauge shotgun
470 NE double
500 Jeffery
Please do not tell the locals!!!As far as I am aware the .22LR is illegal for the hunting of any game in South Africa.
I love Mannlichers too. I was about to get a new SM12 but I’m not thrilled about the sensor they added. Love the two I currently own.Mannlicher-Schoenauer in .458 Winchester-Magnum for dangerous game.
Mannlicher-Schoenauer in 9,3x62 for planes game in thick bush.
Mannlicher- Schoenauer in 8x68S for planes game in open country.
Mannlicher-Schoenauer in 5,6x57 for all the smaller stuff.
.... or just a Mannlicher-Schoenauer in 6,5x54 M-S for everything.
