Hello from Louisiana

@Flipper Dude

When we went to Nor 'Lens we came across the lake Ponceatrain bridge. Man what a drive.
One thing I can say is Nor 'Lens left me underwhelmed, just didn't impress me.
We went to cafe du monde after it came highly recommended by another member as a must do.
Sickly sweet and the coffee was disgusting. Probably an acquired taste.

Yes the coffee is an acquired taste, it's coffee and chicory which can be polarizing if you not used to it. I grew up on the stuff so Im used to it but rarely drink it anymore, there is better coffee out there. I understand being underwhelmed, I am 20 minutes from the French Quarter and try to stay out of there as much as possible.

New Orleans is a wonderful city and at the same time, it’s a shit hole. An outsider can really benefit from a knowledgeable host with similar interests. It’s really a “state of mind” kinda place, and you gotta be feeling it.

Mate one sip of that fiendish stuff they tried to pass of as coffee and I had to run around licking my arse to get the taste out of my mouth.

We had a great host in @Rick HOlbert who knows the city well. We saw different parts and it still didn't enthuse me.
Then again big cities no matter where they are in the world, even Australia hold zero appeal to this country boy.
People ask me what are the best views to see in Sydney.
I tell them the views in your rearview mirror in the way out of the shithole.
Did I mention I don't like big cities

Flipper, I learned how to make gumbo from my mom and grandmother. Praire cajun cooking is so different from creole New Orleans gumbo. I'm not 100% cajun though. Mom is pure cajun so that makes her coonass. Dad was an Oklahoma Indian so that made him a blanketass. Put a coonass together with a blanketass and that makes me a halfass!

Welcome welcome welcome

I'll take the Vortex scope cover you have listed in the Pay it Forward thread.
