Recoil reducer in B&C safari stock?

I’m contemplating the idea of ordering a Bell & Carlson synthetic stock for my Brno 375 h&h. Since I believe a walnut stock is somewhat heavier I would like to have the B&C team mould in one or more mercury recoil reducers (each weigh 11oz and a maximum of 3 can be fitted in the stock).

Does anyone have experience of whether or not more than one reducer (2 or 3) will make the rifle unbalanced, as in unproportionately heavy towards the rear end? If so I would stick to only 1x recoil reducers, but otherwise I would prefer at least two.

Hoping that someone out there has a Brno 602 / CZ 550 magnum in a B&C stock, who can share thoughts?

As someone with a 602 in .375 wearing a B&C stock….

I strongly advise you reconsider because the B&C stocks are of appropriate weight and I can’t imagine one reducer in the stock let alone two and three would just be comical, which would be horribly heavy and balance like a tractor axle.

Yes. I recommend 1 reducer is all. I have BC stock on CZ 458 Lott. 1 reducer installed when stock was made to my LOP. Balances nice and pleasure to shoot. I run a reducer in all my bolt rifles 375 and up. Even have one in 300 win mag. Makes pleasure to shoot off bench.
 
Well... I have Bell & Carlson stock on my CZ 550 in 416 Rigby. The rifle weighs 10lbs 4oz. without a scope or rings, and has a 22 1/4 inch barrel. I know there is a recoil reducer tube in the stock (always assumed it was just one but can't be sure). Rifle handles great and has done the job on 3 buffalo and lots of Plans Game. not sure if that helps. :)
 
I had B&C do a sporter stock with a mercury reducer, cartridge was .28 Nosler. For me, all it did was add weight. Switched to an H&S precision on another and I didn't see any difference, Wouldn't do it again.
May work better with larger calibers shooting heavier bullets.

It is now down to maximum 1 recoil reducer, and possibly none ;-)
 
FYI - if you call B&C their customer service is great and they can do many things.

I ordered mine with custom LOP and if you buy a rifle with wrong LOP they can cut it insert a spacer, wrap and repaint it for $160 including new recoil pad of choice; all with leaving the bedding in intact and it will look brand new.
 
Mercury reducers have no scientific basis for reducing recoil except the mass that they add. So my recommendation is to have a reasonable mass- you can add simple lead weights. I also believe that good balance is very important. Tail heavy and nose heavy rifles kick more. So balance the weight between your hands by adding lead weights glued into the stock.
 
My cz 550 in 416 rigby is in a black B&C stock...barrel shortened , and weighs about 9.5lbs....pleasant to shoot....can't see any reason you would need even one in a 375...
