It’s a shame Brent, gates and others like him shout about a free market but spent decades driving American labor costs down with decades of illegal immigrants. Then payed politicians to make policy easier to ship America jobs overseas, then create the h-1b visa in 1990 to take care of the skilled jobs that they can’t export and now they have ai so wipe out the rest of the white collar sector. They’ve done everything possible to insure we haven’t had a free market since 90 percent of the people on this forum have been alive. Atleast trump tried to slow them down but the courts f us again

Trump will miss Graham enormously. It is useful to recall that Trump not only didn't lift a finger to support either Paul Dans or Mark Lynch in the SC Republican primary, both MAGA acolytes, but came out in March in strong support of Graham, a decision with which he remained steadfast through the June vote.

The MAGA stalwarts love to scream "swamp" as if it means something. But the swamp is where actual legislation gets done. With McConnel perhaps dying and Graham now gone (who chaired the senate budget committee and served on appropriations), I have no idea how the republicans plan to get the defense reconciliation across the finish line, much less something as controversial as the Save America legislation.

SC will hold another primary in August, and I assume Trump will throw his support behind Dans or Lynch, or perhaps behind whomever the governor selects to serve Graham's term (Jan 27) if it isn't one of those two.

The country will miss Graham in the same way it misses Joe Lieberman and John McCain. They were not always correct, but all three were strong believers in exercising national initiative to protect the nation's interests through a pro-active foreign policy rather than one that waited to react to the actions of our foes. Rubio is one of the last in this administration who is cut from that cloth.

Lindsey Graham was also never confused about just who Putin was, the importance of NATO, and the abiding threat posed by Russia's imperial ambitions.

Out of the entire GOP swamp clan, I can actually tolerate Graham, which is a big loss for the party. McConnell? not so much, even though I wish him well in his recovery.

I can imagine the Democrat demon spawn are dancing in the streets over Grahams demise.

Nikki Haley would be the most logical and effective person the governor could appoint in the interim. She would win in November and has the traditional conservative credentials and support that would fit with those of us who supported Graham and his views on international issues. Scott would be another, though less experienced with international issues.

Kavanaugh was about to be Borked if not for a scathing five minute monologue from Graham that turned the Senate hearing 180*.

I have never been a big Graham fan but those five minutes are how I will choose to remember him.

Don’t rule out the governor resigning and having the LG appoint him. His term is up in January anyway and he could easily win a primary and in November.
