This exemplifies being completely prepared and able to leave for a hunt at moments notice.

Such a great value. I’m booked for September-October this year. If I wasn’t booked, I would be all in on this offer.

Just out of curiosity. What are the absolute minimum time frames and requirements for a short notice trip like this for those that may not be prepared but would consider it.

Check list:
Flights
Rifle permits
Invitations
Deposit Payments
Import/export arrangements for trophies.

If I wasn't already booked and ready to go for early September I would have taken it and saved money. Amazing opportunity!

I think a week tops if you decide to use the camp guns (which you do if you live in Canada or Europe anyhow). Stupid embargo rules!

If I wasn’t taking guns I could literally wire money and get on a plane tomorrow. But I’d rather take my own so whatever the minimum notice to do that paperwork and notify the airline. My guess is that takes 5 days of everyone involved is focused.

I’d jump on this but I’m already going to be in Zim hunting August 1-10. As much as I’d like to add this on to that trip I can’t be gone for a month.

Dalton wants who ever takes this hunt to be in camp 15 days. I just couldn’t pull off more than 1 week.

Also a Full bag- as in expected to shoot all the trophies listed, plus charter, taxes, scout fees etc

If a gent was truly interested, you’d only need a few days, like 3 minimum, 5 would prove better, and week or more, golden. For Zimbabwe, 1. you’d do your rifle permit there at the airport upon arrival, single page application you’d have filled out in advance.

2. You need a visa, but it’s an electronic application and small fee you do online, takes about 5-10min tops including payment, they email you a UPC code you show upon arrival.

3. Dalton would send an invoice through the folks they use for electronic wire transfers for the deposit and invitation letter at the same time.

So really, as long as you have enough time to book the flights, you have time…if flying into Harare. If you book with initial flight into JNB, then you’d need the SAPS permit for JNB transfer…but Mr. X could could have one within a day or three easily. Thats what he shared with me in April.

Qatar has flight directly into Harare…but they will need a day or three to process your firearm request. I think they suggest 5, but mine for my return flight in May was approved within like 12-hours of submitting it.

There is nothing to fear on these late notice hunts…a few steps needing prompt attention, but entirely doable.

For the love of all that is sacred, someone needs to book this. My wife told me to go but I cannot get away from the office during this time. Adventure awaits.

Sounds like your wife is a wonderful person, mine said "don't even think about it".... :)
She knows how much I love being with the wild things, but I have to admit that I was a little surprised, and my caveman mind thought: hmm, what obscenely expensive purchase does she have in mind for herself?

I don’t care who you are now that’s funny and oh so true my friend!!!!! Gospel !!!

I am presently heading over in October with them again for a cancellation and some remaining quota in another area…so I sent Dalton a message letting him know if swapping helped out on his end, I could make it happen. While it would allow a little more time for planning, it would only make another slot to fill later and I’d end up missing part of sheep season.

This should prove a fantastic hunt. Someone should grab it.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.
