What did you reload today?

50 375 H&H rounds with 300 grain A-Frames for my August trip to Zim.

Also 10 450/400 rounds with 400 grain A-Frames and 4 with Breakaway solids as a final regulation check for the load before loading a full complement for the same trip.

Both using H4350 which is convenient.

Some 223 Remington loaded with the 70 gr Barnes TSX BT for my CZ 527 (on the advice of @Philip Glass ) Hopefully I get to use them on Klipspringer and Cape Grysbok in the Eastern Cape later this June.

I hope to see that in your hunt report, as I'm extremely curious how they work out.

I'm another .44 Special fan. Good fun, & loaded up or down very versatile.
I love the cartridge, it and the 44 mag are my two favorites with the 45 colt being third.
The 44 special is the most powerful round for the Colt single action.
My field load is the same 262 Keith with 8 grains of Longshot, gives me exactly 1000 feet from the 7.5” new frontier. That load should handle any problem a sixgun can be asked to solve.

183 rounds of 30-378 today , yesterday was 98 pieces of 300 weatherby , 100 pieces of 340 weatherby and 34 pieces of 28 nosler.

8x68S with 196gr Spoor bullet Company bullets also loaded 25-06 with 110gr ELD-X bullets but aint so sexy as this classic pushing these 196gr bullets at a mild tad under 2800fps Kudu medicine.

With enormous amounts of generosity and shared knowledge from folks like @michael458 and @Kynoch2015 and Sam R, I now have a heaping helping of .577 BPE 3” loaded up with 650gr Woodleighs over 101gr of Varget. That load puts right and left barrel dead next to each other just 3” high over the bull at 50 yards at about 1780fps.

I leave in 10 days and plan to put these to good use.

Thanks to everyone for all your help finding components. I simply ran out of time trying to sort out a hard cast or solid option. I just couldn’t get any of those bullets to behave in this old slow twist hammer double. I simply will have be patient for the correct side-on shot with the Woodleighs and follow up as quickly as possible.

Hope to be able to share trophy pictures very soon.

Just finished loading up 40rounds of .35 Remington with 36 grains of IMR 3031, and Hornady 200 grain round nose bullets.
Got another 40 pieces of brass prepped and primed, hopefully I’ll load them tomorrow evening.

What firearm are shooting the 35 REMs from? I have a Marlin 336 and a 14” Contender.
Have you tried LeverEvolution powder in your 35? 3031 does well, but LVR was kind of a game changer for 35s.
The 35 is a cool OLD cartridge!

I realized that if I die, I would leave with a bunch of powders and bullets unused. So I gave myself the project of developing a load for upcoming hunts with components I have on hand. I want to thin the inventory and at the end stick with only a few proven powders and bullets..

So in the last few weeks, I shot :

For this fall Wyoming pronghorn hunt :

- 59 grains of IMR 7828SCC behind a 130 grains Berger VLD Hunting in my Mod 70 Featherweight 270 Win. When seated at 0.040'' off the land, accuracy is about MOA.

- 55 grains of IMR 4451 behind a Hornady 165 grains SST in my Mod 70 Super Grade 30-06. About MOA when seated 0.030'' and 0.050'' off the land.

Tests at 200 yards will decide wich rifle I take with me. Even if I lean toward the Super Grade for his better overall handling.

- For my 2027 Cape Buffalo Hunt, I loaded 74 grains of IMR 4451 behind a Barnes 270 grains TSX in my BRNO ZKK 602 375 H&H. This load gives me 2570 fps. I know some manual listed receipes that push these Barnes around 2700 fps, but my rifle shoots these loads more like patterns, and the bolt lift is a little sticky. This load is MOA but I'll do some seathing depth testing in the next few weeks or so. I'll also test the Nosler 300 grains Partition, as I have about 80 of them on the shelf.

That's it.

I’m shooting them out of a Marlin 336.
Im new to reloading for this cartridge, so I haven’t experimented with other powder/bullet combos.
My rifle seems to love the loads I’ve been making, as it shoots very accurately, but I’m always willing to try another load/bullet combo.
Please tell me more about your loads using LVR powder.

Didnt get any reloading done but lucked into the "widow" scenario - a woman from our church approached me at services and asked if I would like any reloading gear. I came home with a new press, several boxes of bullets, primers, scale, powder measures, dies, and all kinds of extra stuff. The downside is a lot of it is for .41 Mag which I do shoot, but she has no idea where the gun is. Based on the components, he shot it a LOT so I'm curious where that one went. Also, didnt find any powder so asked her to keep a look out for it.

Hello,
I might be able to help you out depending on how many you need. I could probably spare 50-75 .285g A-Frames. They are factory pulls that look like new. Let me know if you are still looking,
Thanks,
Gary
