The Blue Duiker is one of my favourite animals to hunt. Setting up for these incredible animals in the coastal undergrowth has its excitement in its own way.
This specific hunt just showed the commitment from our Professional Hunter once again, getting up at 03:00 in the morning in order to be in position as they were moving really early. The extra effort don't always get rewarded with success, but the effort can never be questioned.

Proper Nyala bull hunted on foot. When he doesn't want to come closer to the man-made blind, slip out and stalk him to 33 yards. The G5 Megameat broadheads are some serious equipment.

This bull really had everything! Mass, mop, neck and length. I have heard shooting an Eland in the wrong spot has made people retire. When you love what you do, its all part of the adventure!

Hunting Fallow Deer in the rut on foot with a bow must be one of the most fun hunts out there. Croaking, chasing, scraping all happening at closer than 40 yards will get even the most experienced hunter excited. Here, our huntress kept her nerve and bagged herself this beautiful buck.

Always great when these opportunities arrive. Beautiful cat hunted over a pack of hounds. If you are serious about hunting Caracal, hounds is really the only way to have the best opportunity.

Our hunter's first trip to Africa, and the very first animal he gets onto is this sensational Kudu bull.

Great day out for our hunter. Main animal they are pursuing is a Gemsbuck. So far, they have been evading everyone targeting them. Down here in the Eastern Cape, they seem to like to live level with the clouds. We never lose. We just run out of time.

Success high up in the mountains! Mike gets himself this old Gemsbuck bull. This was one of his main animals for this trip. After a couple of unsuccessful stalks in various areas, I was incredibly proud of the team to get the job done.

This old rutting buck was worse for wear. These Fallow came on the British ships in the 1800's as food before being release in the Eastern Cape and settling in places where they survived. They have adapted extremely well in the drier parts of the Province and can be found in many free range settings. These rutting bucks are probably better as dog food, but out of rut, they are exceptional table fare.

This Cape Grysbok was hunted with us during April of this year. They are mostly nocturnal and offer a challenging hunt in the pursuit of finding an old ram. By attaching real economic value to them through regulated hunting, landowners gain a powerful incentive to protect its specialized fynbos habitat, turning once-overlooked species into a living asset for long term conservation.

That’s a very interesting post. Thanks for that and congratulations to the hunter.
 
Our hunter managed to take this wonderful Oribi ram during his safari with us. Notice the extraordinary secondary growth on this ram showing the age in this specimen. Hunting Oribi in the Eastern Cape are extremely regulated with only a very few permits getting issued annually. If it wasn't for hunters placing value on these animals and selectively taking off old males, the species and territories of these animals would simply be non-existent.
