Can you travel from the US with two rifles of the same caliber to South Africa on my way to Mozambique? I am traveling with a bolt action and a double rifle in 375H&H.

:S Welcome: to AH

I suggest you contact Riflepermits.com or Gracy Travel with your particular specifics

No. A 375 double and a 375 bolt action would be a no. I can't bring a 300 RUM and a 300 Win on the same permit. One person carry one one the other.

If you get a pre-approved permit before you leave it is possible. I would not try and have a permit issued on arrival. They do get approved. Worst that can happen is your pre approved permit gets rejected.

I am doing that again from ATL to JNB Tsala picks me up drive to Moz. In advance you pay your rifle fees through your outfitter for Moz. I use rifle permits for my SA license given you have to pick up your rifle there then drive or charter fly to Moz where there are rifle fees

Check with Henry Rifle Permits, but IIRC one person can't import 2 rifles of the same caliber.

As for Moz, my outfitter inform me last week Moz charges $300.00USD per firearm .

I tried last year with a 375h&h along with a 375rum & didn’t get to first base even with trying to get pre approval ( maybe @375Fox can explain how one can ? )
Hope that helps & one I wish you the best in moz , it’s a great place

Cheers

From my understanding with what Henry has said. SA looks as if any are same bore dia means same caliber. So no more than one 375, 458 7mm 300 etc. I had friend have 7x57and 7mm rem mag denied. Only one 7mm. Same when tried 458lott 458win mag.
So most likely it’s a No with SAPS.

It’s been done in past, but they may have become much more strict. I’m guessing didn’t get past first base means Rifle Permits wouldn’t submit the paperwork? It was explained to me if the permit is issued it nullifies the usual conditions. I didn’t expect there would be a high likelihood of approval but there is a chance.

Gday 375 fox
Thanks I’ll check it out
Cheers

I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.

Hello,
I might be able to help you out depending on how many you need. I could probably spare 50-75 .285g A-Frames. They are factory pulls that look like new. Let me know if you are still looking,
Thanks,
Gary
