What did you reload today?

Some more .35 Whelen fun for me too. I just converted some .30-06 brass to .35 W, and loaded them up with some orphan 180 gr. Hornady single shot pistol bullets that I acquired in a bulk auction lot purchase. 20 grains of Unique should propel them as fun and effective plinking loads, and perform final case forming duties while they help me train for offhand practise.

.416 Rigby ammunition. 400 grain Woodleigh hydro’s pushed by 90 grains of AR 2209 for 2440 FPS.

Fine tuning 25-06 load with Hornady ELD-X going to shoot them at 200 meters see what they do and also have some with different OAL same powder charge.
Also loaded some SBC (Spoor Bullet Company) 196gr in 8mm for my 8x68S and some Hornady to play with as trigger as been smoothed see what it can do on the range on Wednesday.

Tell me more about this load/bullet, I’m intrigued.
Did you cast this bullet? If not where are they available? thanks
Hello Brickman301 Yes I did hand cast this bullet .
I was trying to get 2000 fps was only able to reach 1950 fps in my win model 70
I was using AA2230 powder WW cases and Rem LRM primer
This load acutely made scope move back 1 inch in the scope rings
The nose is just to flat for what I am looking for
I have 2 more molds on order may be they will do what I am looking for a lead bullet that can stay with a 450 gr solid for elephant and buff

Thanks for the info. I had no idea you were pushing them that fast! I figured it you were loading them a lot slower that that.
lol “this load made the scope move back 1 inch”, I bet it did! Recoil must be horrendous with that load!

I’m very interested in that bullet mold, any details on where you got it?

Not Today, this past weekend loaded 50 x 500gr Impala bullet solids in my 458 Lott to add to the others in the box to be used at our big bore shoots.

I go through about 200-250 rounds per year on these shoots very good practise.
Where are your big bore shoots anything close to Idaho

I fire formed 50 rounds of 35 whelen AI with 200 gr.barnes TTSX 60 gr. VV n540 close to 2900 fps I switched to the TTSX from the Tsx maybe I little more accurate with a cold bore 10 shots one high one low 2" 8 inside 1" this load with tsx was devastating on caribou

 Really? Inertia makes a scope move FORWARD under recoil. And if it does, you haven't fitted the scope properly.

@wolfhunter
With those 200 grainers you should be up over the 3,000 in the AI.

I will be looking for a set of these when my .505 is done... sadly not cashed up right now for these. :(
Need anything in trade?
Cheers,

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
