The USA has labelled both Canada and the EU as threats to their "National Security" in order to justify new duties declared by their military Commander-in-Chief on the international trade of steel and aluminum. So I suggest that USA made products such as firearms and ammunition should be sold exclusively within the USA so Canada and Europe can help our esteemed neighbour defend themselves and improve their national security. Sadly, I have come to the conclusion that Canadians and Europeans should make do with their own products exclusively. For all our AfricaHunting friends in Canada, Europe, Africa and elsewhere, please don't buy any American made products. Lets's support the USA in their concern. One can never be too careful when there are evil guys to deal with, and it is our duty to help, as always.
The USA has every right to tariff foreign made products, especially those that are critical to National Security.. The Canadians and the European Union have placed hugh tariffs on US Manufactured products since the end of World War II. NATO Nations have taken terrible advantage of the US in that the US has been paying for the lion’s share of NATO for 35 years. While European population is about twice that of the US , the US provided 75 % of the cost of NATO.
Times have changed, time for Canadians and Europeans to take care of their own Countries, we Americans are sick of funding you.

A good read on postwar economies is The Reckoning by David Halberstam. Making long story short, after WW2, the world's manufacturing was in ruins. We had it all to ourselves. In order to rebuild our enemies economies we paid for almost 100% of their defense needs and our best and brightest worked in those industries. Meanwhile, Japan, Germany and others who we defended after the war employed their best and brightest in consumer goods like autos, electronics and other manufactured goods. It's still the same today. (I worked with some engineers for a Big 3 that couldn't find their asses with both hands).

Having said that, these countries are back on their feet and still offloading their defense costs on the U.S. taxpayer and at the same time sticking it up OUR ass with TARIFFS on just about every manufactured goods TO PROTECT THEIR INDUSTRIES! Meanwhile, they have BETTER health care (among high income nations, we have the worst!) and that nice imported Mercedes, Volvo, BMW, Honda, Acura, ad nauseum we buy is subsidizing these countries defense, health care and other social "benefits".

Don't even start on NAFTA, the biggest scam ever perpetrated on the American worker. Read the Heritage's Foundation paper on it's "benefits" before it passed. They were reduced illegal immigration, a reduction in drug smuggling and a crimp on American workers' salaries and unions. They got one right and here we are with a big deficit and no tax base to support it.

I'm done.
Excellent discussion, thank you for an explanation even a Canadian or European might be able to understand.
I also have had enough of these entitled Canadians and Europeans. They have no understanding just what America has done to protect them and build their economies. They are one pathetic bunch of freeloaders.

Here we go again for another few thousand pages, anyone who calls out the welfare nations on their behavior for the past decades is "MAGA".........

Blaming MAGA for hurt feelings seems to be the international equivalent of playing the race card.

Stand by for arguments about international fishing rights and blah, blah, blah.......

She’s going to resurface somewhere, you just can’t hold a blabbering idiot down for long.

Remember they are looking for a hand out not a hand up.

Well, always something new with this President. It will be an interesting couple of weeks. I should add, he is absolutely correct. This runoff will be catastrophically expensive for the party and will suppress the November turnout offering the dems a real opportunity. I hope he supports Cornyn. First, I infinitely prefer him to Paxton, and secondly - not a small thing - he received the most votes in the primary (its a democracy thing).

Holy shit!

I knew water was costly in CA.. but I didnt realize it was that costly..

I can cover my water for the entire year for $600.. and that includes running the hell out of my in ground sprinkler system several times a week from about May until September every year...

Property tax.. thats a completely different animal though.. TX loves to screw you on your property tax.. the rates we pay here are insane...
As a comparison to @Tanks and you, on my small ranch near Fort Collins, I have a domestic house water well and a stock well near my barn/shop plus I share another stock well with a neighbor. All the water costs me is a little bit of electricity to pump it after an initial $35k to drill the wells. I have a 1000 gallon propane tank that powers a back up whole-house generator that will run everything including my A/C if the utility power goes out.

Thanks to TABOR (Taxpayers Bill of Rights) offered up and passed by Republicans many years ago, taxes in Colorado can only be raised by voter approval on the ballot, which removed the legislature, counties, cities and school districts from being able to pass tax increases. Property taxes on my 3300 square foot house, 1280 square foot garage, 3200 square foot barn/shop, other infrastructure and pastures are around $4000 per year. We do have sales taxes on food and goods but reasonable. Colorado income tax is fixed at 4.4%. Isn’t it amazing how efficiently things can be done when you tie the hands of the government from raising taxes?

The only way to change TABOR is also at the ballot box. It has been tried but has never been passed by the voters. Hopefully that continues. Now you know why so many Californians and Minnesotans moved here but still vote poorly.

Regardless of location people complain about taxes.

Just look at Oklahoma, the locals endlessly complain about taxes but if you combine Oklahoma property tax, state income + sales tax and it's still nothing compared to Texas property taxes.

Yet people in Oklahoma wonder why their schools are rated lowest in the country and the roads are crumbling.

The county where my farm is brought up a $0.01 dedicated road and bridge tax to vote; you would have thought they were trying to dissolve social security with the public temper tantrums being thrown by the elderly residents...... the same elderly residents that vote down every school bond while children are piled on top of each other is outdated crumbling schools!

Oklahoma does have some of the lowest total taxes in the country.

The municipality I live in Oklahoma is quite a bit different from yours. According to AI, over the past 60 years our community has passed 62 bond issues and rejected one. While Oklahoma is historically low in education our school district is in the 98 percentile nationally and our high schools are in the 94 percentile. Education is still primarily a local issue with the community determining priorities.

I feel for communities in Oklahoma and across the country that don’t prioritize a certain level of education, infrastructure, law and order etc. but those services have a cost and we all determine where we live and how much we are willing to pay to live there. I have lived in my community 48 years and love everything about it other than it has grown too large.

Mostly it seems to be dairy tariffs than require repeating every few hundred pages for those too ignorant to read the entire thread before commenting but I’m happy to debate international fishing rights if you want? As a side note you do realize you’re likely coming to the defence of a bot? Seems like we get them every few hundred pages and they comment on the first page of the thread then disappear forever.

@Scott CWO most likely not even real seems to be a trend if you pick up on them , new member that registered several years ago 15 post 50 reaction score comments on the first page and disappears forever most likely a bot.

OK here's the deal...you along with someone else just now (refer to southern African terminology to translate...and am not saying South Africa there on meaning of just now etc etc etc) have brought up the very first post in this thread....so the deal is you bloody well go and read every single post before you can involve yourself....and if you don't like my statement..you are confusing me with someone that gives a fk....now I am impressed with my phone as it has that memorised....obviously needed quite regularly for some obscure reason..

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.
