SCI Convention 2026 - Who Is Joining Me?

I’ll be there. First SCI convention, haven’t been to any big conventions other than WSF Reno since DSC back in like 2004. Booked a room for Tuesday through Sunday. Still sorting if the misses is coming along or solo, and how many days. Hope to attend the meet-up and other fun events.
Wish I could've met you! A lot of people there!

Ditto. I was only at the show a couple hours Saturday…trying to keep up with Fanco Friday night was tough. Had a wonderful time, even bought a pair of shorts, lol. Actually got a few clothing pieces from Rigby, fitted by Jerome for a Shikari and nice discussion with him about the rifles and possible build for my 60th birthday…which is still 7.5 years away. Held a lot of nice doubles, quite a few Hollands, Westley Richards, even a lovely Rising Bite that Jerome (Or Rigby??) ended up buying Saturday.

Got lots of intel for buffalo hunts in Zambia, Tanzania, as well as discussions with a few guys I really want to hunt with, like Buzz (Probably 2029 and may allow daughter to hunt her first buff) and @DAVE LANGERMAN Safaris, which we’ll have to hunt sooner. Somehow, on the first day, my upcoming Moz buffalo hunt seems to have likely turned into a northwestern Botswana elephant hunt.

I have been here since Wednesday and the show has been a tremendous success.
So far I’ve booked the following:
A month in Namibia on the Caprivi for Elephant/Buff/Leopard.
2 week Italian tour with boar hunt
Marco Polo/Pamir Ibex

I found the auction prices were cheaper this year than in the past and some incredible deals were gotten. Also spoke with many friend/outfitters that said they were either greatly reducing their presence at DSC or just not going back anymore.

HH
I heard the exact same thing. Congrats on your bookings! Who did you wind up booking with for MP?

I am packing to go home after a full week here. What a show it was! I got ibex hunts in Greece and Pakistan booked and nearly bought another. I got to meet and catch up with so many people.

Wife and I went Wednesday and Thursday, our third SCI Nashville convention. Able to avoid some of the crowds and conduct business. Sorted the dates for November 26 Spanish ibex and mouflon hunt. Booked NZ tahr and chamois for 27. Got measured for Rand custom hat, wife bought one off the shelf. Bought SigSauer image stabilization binoculars. Discussed future European hunts with several outfitters. Visited booths of previous merchandise and hunting purchases. Got to meet Ron Spomer briefly as well as Hornady Podcast, Seth Swerczek. Sorry we couldn’t attend the AH dinner but sounds like an incredible turnout. @skydiver386 need to get information from you about getting extra hats made, really appreciate the ones we got last year.

PM inbound.

Hi Mark he isn't the minister of tourism ..Evans muhanga is the permanent secretary...Rodney sikumba is the minister of tourism...he is also there...he was also selected by sci as the 2026 international legislator of the year....nice guy ....sent him a message last night asking how nashville was treating him...said its going great :D (y)

Here is his acceptance speech..he is good at Public speaking...unlike some in governments this side...

Sounds like SCI dodged a HUGE bullet with the weather. It was only 3 weeks ago people were still without power in Nashville and frigid cold weather. My sister lives there and had no power for a week. I think over 300,000 customers were affected by the ice storm.

On the upside, there's lots of free firewood hanging around.

They're still cleaning up along every road here in Brentwood, just south of Nashville. The local parks are still closed as they haven't had time to go through them to clear the downed trees, but they are creating huge mountains of mulch in the parking lots as they bring what's picked up along the roadsides and grind at the parks.
Some idiot lit a pile along Murray Ln; that got some people excited, lol

Few items that held my interest, so many more, but these were the highlights. Really got a kick out of Jerome’s fitting rifle which he custom set the triggers, made to assist with fitting doubles as well.

It was great to finally meet you in person at the tent…and then at the Double Rifle Society event, and then the AH event!

Which Ibex in Pakistan? This is on my list of places to go.

LMAO....Bad part is most of the trees I think are junk trees that don't burn well. At least in my sister's neighborhood anyway. Her area is near what I think is '5 Points'.

We greatly enjoyed the show and dinner with the group!

Wife and I are looking at something in '27. Possibly Caprivi or Zim for own use buff and elle along with some other species that Africa may offer.

Ended up buying an auction hunt for this year. A bit apprehensive about the auction hunt, but hoping for the best.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
