I have booked a buffalo hunt for my two sons and me for this year in Klaserie. 3 hunters / 3 tags. I would love advice/feedback from anyone with experience in Klaserie as to what we can expect and/or lessons learned from your previous trips. We are first timers to Africa and couldn't be any more excited to get to experience this together. Thanks in advance!

Congratulations! Who are you hunting with?

you booked with a great outfitter

Are you staying at Thornybush?

It’s a great hunt. I took a management bull there in the Klaserie. Lots of lion and elephant and leopard. Saw daytime leopard three times. Lots of buffalo. Challenging to find the right one. If you are in Thornybush, I’d recommend a day or two of game drives before the hunt if you can fit it in. Much better than Kruger or Klaserie for game drives

Awesome! Thank you! Beautiful Bull!

My son and I will be with Ernest in August. Have a tag in both Timbavati and Klaserie. The wives have luxury accommodations and will then be in Ernest’s tented camp a few days before we all go to his property for a few more days of hunting PG.
Awesome! No offense but I sure hope there are three fewer Buff in Klaserie after June.. lol. We are doing the PG on his place as well following Klaserie.

My wife and I hunted with Ernest in Timbavati and Klaseri, I had an unlimited tag in Klaseria and took a 44.5 inch old monster bull and we harvested 3 management buffalos that we are old and big!! I will be going back again, Ernest is top notch and you will have an amazing trip I am booked again with him for Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Botswana.

The bull in my avatar is from Klaserie. Kruger genetics are crazy. Prior to hunting Klaserie, I had only hunted in bush camps (Zambia, Botswana, etc.). Klaserie is much more developed than any other area I had hunted. The hunting is great, and there is a huge range of accommodation options, but it is not a bush hunt. The road system is extensive and in great repair, and many of the inholdings have very nice camps. It seems a good option for a first hunt, particularly with the ladies tagging along.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
