Argentina Exporter Raided Trophies Seized

Manuel Gil, have you had any updates on the situation regarding Federico.
Hello guys,

Sorry I couldn’t write before.
Yesterday we´ve been on one of the warehouse´s of Federico identifying trophies and we´ve found most of the trophies of our clients after many hours as the warehouse in totally a mess, today my brothers are visiting another warehouse looking for the ones remaining and if they can’t found them there is still one more warehouse to look.

We expect the restitution of the trophies around 20/25 days after we found all trophies from what the police said yesterday.

For the exportations of this year they are asking some more things to the broker and now it´s taking some more time to give the exportation approvals, having that said there has been some trophies that have already been exported of this year season for some months already.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me for anything you need or doubt.

MG Hunting was one of our best hunts ever. My two sons and two of my grandchildren accompanied me for a five day hunt in March of last year. It was in the middle of the ROAR and the Red Stags were cooperative.
The first morning my guide and I were out before daylight and we had stags Roaring all around us. The first one I saw was a very nice specimen and a well placed shot dropped him and I had my Red Stag before the sun rose above the horizon.
My sons took their Red Stags the first evening. My grandchildren each took very nice black bucks and my granddaughter took a wild sheep.
We hunted hard for water buffalo and finished the job on the fourth day and our list was complete.
The Gil brothers and their guides were very knowledgeable and spoke good English.
The accommodations and food were excellent and they had a very good selection of top shelf rifles in a variety of calibers.
My only complaint was that I didn’t use more patience in waiting to shoot my Stag as the time in the Red Stag woods was magical.
The true test of any hunt is that we are all looking forward to returning.

What year did you hunt? Did you have or do you expect any problems getting your trophies back home?

Hunted March of 2025. The nightmare of trophies being seized from an exporter has seemed to have subsided. Those trophies have been released and mine are in process of shipping to US.

Did they give a time frame of how long to expect them?

It's a little too broad of a statement to say the trophies have been released from 2025. In fact, many of them have not been released and may not be for another year. My full camp from spring of '25 has not been released. There is a big difference between the status of this in Patagonia and the rest of Argentina. See this update from a local operator, which is less than a week old...

Im planning on Argentina next year, what does shipping rates look like? Only having one exporter doing trophies doesn't sound good for rates on are end.

Our last group hunt was $1500 a box shipped to atlanta which my box easily held 2 stag antlers and capes, 2 blackbuck horns and capes and a large boar.

But do you have your trophies?

What is your definition of "in process of shipping to the U.S."
I hunted Argentina in March of 2025 and my outfitter got my trophies to the export people relatively quickly.

In October of 2025 I was told everything was all set and they were "in process of preparing everything for shipping".

My trophies are still in Argentina and as of yesterday I was asked for "continued patience" which is code for "we have no idea when they will ship" from what I can tell.

Hunted with Catena Safaris in March 2023. Took a red stag, blackbuck, and a feral goat. Great experience hunting. No trophies received at over 2 years now....and no updates from the outfitter so far in 2025....
Did you get your trophies?

I was with a group of 11 hunters in early March 2025. None of us have gotten trophies back. Some of us have gotten emails from Pampas Cargo stating they needed a lot more documentation from the hunter...some of us have received no emails. The documentation requested included proof of flight to Argentina, power of attorney, etc.

“In the process” of being shipped to the US. VERY vague. Do you have them yet?

Good luck and let us know. For two years or more it seems everyone’s trophies have been released and “In the process of being shipped.”

I really hope Argentina figures it out soon because it’s a country I really want to hunt, but won’t till trophies are actually making it out and instead of being in the process.

The nightmare ain't over until you have them at home. "In the process" don't cut it. Please let us know if and when they actually arrive.

My buddies who were on the trip with me in 2023 have finally received their trophies.

I’m sure there is still quite a backlog on the export side, but at least things are moving.
I am a short timer. My two trophies from March 2025 have "only" been "just about ready to ship" since October....

Surely NEW hunt trophies won't be part of this nightmare???

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
