listened to a panel of attorneys that specialize in international law talking about the legal arguments against trumps actions…

They conceded that while people may be morally outraged, that legal precedent is established and that any defense Maduro might try to present is going to be weak and likely to fail…

No one gave a shit when the US apprehended Noriega on essentially the same charges (trans national narco terrorism), and not only is the evidence that’s been seen in the 2020 filing much more concrete than anything presented during the Noriega trial (Maduro is almost certainly getting convicted in the US federal courts), but the method and means of apprehension were lessor (we sent the entire ranger regiment, two light infantry divisions, the USMC, used extensive naval and USAF assets, and stayed in Panama a while), and most of the developed countries of the world refused to acknowledge Maduro and his government as the rightful leadership of Venezuela..

Most of the European news outlets raising hell and showing their citizens protesting conveniently forget that other then Russia almost no other European country recognized Maduro as Venezuelas elected president. Not the UK, not France, not Denmark, not Sweden, not Spain, not Germany, etc etc… everyone agreed that he lost the election and illegally continued to hold power over the Venezuelan people by force.

So.. the US did not kidnap the president of a foreign country… not one recognized by the government of Australia, New Zealand, or even Kenya… they merely captured yet another narco terrorist for the purpose of bringing him to justice (the argument that heads of state are immune to such actions doesn’t apply since most of the world agrees that he was NOT the legal head of state)…

The US apprehends (and sometimes executes) terrorists in foreign countries somewhat regularly. Very often without the host country’s support or even advising the host country prior. The list of dead and/or imprisoned terrorists that the US has dealt with is very long… Maduro is just another entry on the list…

Venezuela aside for a moment..what if Trump actually take over/occupy Greenland..? Denmark will see that as a hostile action against their territory. It will also mean the end of NATO..all the other members will probably see a takeover as hostile..

What then..?

There is also talk in China now..they argue Trumps action in Venezuela as a green light for a takeover of Taiwan..

Perhaps. Though were I commanding the PLA, I would take the US military action - in conjunction with the B2 raid on Iran, particularly the way we easily eliminated regional air defense and command and control systems, as a cautionary rather than persuasive action with respect to Taiwan.

Bending under pressure. Either the fraud is a nothingburger like he says and he can’t handle the heat or it’s as bad as it looks and he’s responsible for almost criminal negligence with tax dollars (at best). Neither is a good look for someone who was almost VP and a step from the whitehouse.

For the man’s man image the democrats tried to paint him with, he’s been shown to be a pretty cowardly fellow. Makes you wonder how he was never properly vetted for VP candidate. That seems like a pretty major tactical error.

thats great news for Minnesota (and the rest of the US frankly)... although Im not sure Klobuchar would be any better (possibly worse) for the state... I'd sure love to see her gone from Capitol Hill though..

The DNC has had time to get polling numbers since the Somali fraud news came out. At a minimum Waltz and people in his administration were complicit in allowing the fraud to go on. The DNC knows the fraud will be extremely damaging in the midterms. Waltz had no chance to survive this from the Democrats national perspective.

15 months from standing at the pinnacle is a pretty fast fall from grace.
