Its funny this guy in the youtube I just watched survived and actuallly shot an elephant with a push feed Weatherby Mark V .I thought from reading only CRF rifles would work .I trusted Weatherbys in Alaska for 12 years through hell on earh anything Alaska handed me .I think Weatherby Rifles are awesome and the actions are the smoothest and stongest around .I am so glad this young hunter survived a cape buffalo and Elephant hunt with his Weatherby rifle .

Back in the Old Days, before YouTube or Al Gore invented the Internet, guys used large bore front stuffing black powder burning rifles slinging soft lead, and most survived.

Hunting Dangerous Game is dangerous. It all depends on how dangerous you want things to be.

Are you sure? Maybe the bolt was secretly modified to resemble a “CRF”?!

Balderdash, I say! He's dead as 4:00. Hollywood witchcraft!

I'll hunt dangerous game with a controlled round feed rifle, you can take your chances!

......I dunno....call me dumb, stupid, idiotic, lucky, or Forrest Gump. I've written about my cheap charlie Rem 700 416 Rem Mag build on some of these strings in the past. I had the bolt modified by a master gunsmith to accept an M-16 extractor and after several hundred (yes-several hundred) rounds through that kit, I have yet to have a stuck round or a single failure to extract. I shot it in 100+ degree temps to 65 degree temps without a problem. I used OTC ammo as well as my own re-loads. My Weatherby Mark V in .375H&H in my avatar, is push feed and thus far, brought down DG as well as the Sable in the avatar, Golden wildebeest, hartebeest and more....no extraction problems. Say what you want, my proof is in the puddin'.

Weatherby made their Mk5s in 30/06 and 338/06.
I’ve seen left-handed Mk5s in 30/06.
Would love to find a left-handed one in 338/06.

Yup, works every time…

Even for 2,000 yard shots, 1 Mile shots or 200 plus yards on Mule Deer!

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.
