Its truly a shame what Venezuela has become...

I had the opportunity to spend time there on three different occasions during the 90's before Chavez became rabidly anti american and pushed his country into deep socialist territory.. once in the mid 90's, and a couple of times again in the late 90's.. I spent a good bit of time in Caracas.. and also in Maracaibo.. and roaming around in the rural areas of the Zulia (a Venezuelan state in the NW part of the country that shares a border with Colombia.. )... and Margarita Island off the eastern part of their coast..

It was absolutely a beautiful country back then.. Caracas was in my opinion on par with Buenos Aries in terms of culture, food, beauty, elegance, etc.. Margarita Island was covered in resorts that outclassed anything you'd find in Cancun, Cozumel, Punta Cana, etc.. and Maracaibo was truly wonderful to visit.. vibrant, full of life, fun people, etc..

And huge sums of money was being made all over the country.. not only was their oil industry booming, but they had large US firms like Washington Group International investing billions in mining and lumber and other industries.. The "poor" were not really noticeable.. while poverty certainly existed, it wasnt rampant, and was isolated to very rural areas and specific parts of the cities (really not much different than the US is today)..

Fast forward to today... 90-95% of the population lives in poverty.. 60-70% live in extreme poverty.. despite being an "oil" country that is full of other very valuable natural resources, having a solid educational system, etc..

If there was ever an example of how socialism can destroy a vibrant economy almost overnight, its Venezuela..

and yet you have clowns like Talib, Omar, Bernie, and AOC still screaming for us to implement the same system.. because you know.. theyre all really smart and can do it better..

Venezuela has the potential to be the Dubai people actually want to visit and hang out in, or like a mix of the Emirates and Costa Rica. A friend of mine and myself have talked for years about Isla Margherita being a place to get in on the ground level if the conditions were ever right there politically to invest in with a little bit of bold entrepreneurship.

Offshore fishing, skydiving, scenic tours in Cessnas, dirtbike/atv tours, stuff like that.

Venezuela would be a gem for adventure tourism stuff, especially if there were direct flights from Miami, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta into Caracas and Isla Margherita.

Ice agents conduct a raid on a Hyundai battery factory in Georgia, arresting approx 450 illegal aliens.
Some of these had expired visas, or visas that don't allow them to work here
Many of these were south Korean.
Hyundai denies that they are employees of Hyundai, yet South Korea is sending a chartered plane to bring back it's people.

Nice try Hyundai. I hope the government can slap you with huge fines.

Monetary fines to a company like Hyundai are the cost of doing business…
Corporate executives in handcuffs being stuffed in cop cars, taken directly to jail without bail, the factory doors chained and locked will actually make changes…

Muslim woman who says her religion is the most important thing to her is put in charge of UK's home office. Truly astonishing the things that are happening and how deep some people can bury their heads.

The first name of the slain architect of the October 7 massacre, Yahya Sinwar, leaped in popularity in the United Kingdom in 2024 more than any other boy’s name, data from the British Office for National Statistics revealed.

Yahya was ranked the 93rd most popular boy’s name in 2024, according to the ONS, with 583 babies born last year given the name.

Muhammad remained in first place for the second straight year, with other spellings of that name — Mohammed and Mohammad — in 21st and 53rd place, respectively.

^^^^ Maybe Trump is working on a Venezuelan resort. at least slightly better than the Gaza Strip being a resort area
With a 50 MILL $ reward on Madura's head I dont know what everyone is waiting on. Exciting place ,tropical climate and money to be made.

I'm sure the Trump administration putting a $50m bounty on Maduro is a tactic to get someone in Maduro's inner circle to try and take him out.
Any assassin wouldn't live long enough to collect it. No doubt Maduro has a pretty large goon squad of loyal followers protecting him.

And now this total fktard is deputy prime minister.....

Trump is considering the federal government taking partial ownership of private companies that get government bailouts.

That is a terrible path to start down. It is the very definition of Socialism.

His defense is that if the taxpayer is bailing companies out they should get something for it. He is correct in that the taxpayer should not be on the hook. But how about not free bailouts in the first place. Loans maybe.

But once the government starts a program that program is eternal. We do not want government owned businesses competing against companies that don’t take a bailout.
Eventually most will be under government control.

I agree its "too big to fail" thinking. IF he wanted to go the next logical step, capitalizing brilliant ideas to invest in companies about to go meteoric with funding, we'd call that a sovereign wealth fund. Those work out pretty well providing grifters and bureaucrats don't run the funds.

Remember when the dems were all about the poor Ukrainians? Well, when a career criminal black guy kills one, party loyalty and irrational policies matters more.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
