Hi Guys , Great to see such an Awesome page and threads with like minded Adventurers.
Keen to go Hunting as soon as my 416 Rigby PTA (permission to acquire) is approved. We’re having a bit of drama over here atm with Large Calibers and I’ve been waiting over 60 days with no end in sight.
So until i can join the Dangerous Game Club I’ll be living the dream through your stories
Hoping to provide some Cool photos very soon if everything goes Ok.
In a World where Culture seems precious, why is it so hard to practise mine ?

:S Welcome:

Welcome to AH Trojan1972!

Good day! Welcome to AH! May everything work out well for you!

Welcome to AH! Hoping the PTA is soon approved.

Welcome aboard . I’m in Qld too and also experiencing delays to get my PTA through on a 505 Gibbs and a 303 Army & Navy rifle . A bit of a pain as I brought them in at some expense from overseas . Hope you enjoy this forum . I do .

Got my PTA yesterday after 9 weeks and picked up my Rifle , i had filled out/ submitted a Form 4B to include hunting as well as Target shooting as Genuine reason, so No Hunting restriction that I can see. Hope yours goes through quicker then mine did now

I am expecting a problem along the lines of why do you need 2 x 505s and 3x303s . I hope you enjoy your 416 Rigby . Another great cartridge and invariably in very nice rifles . Cheers

One of each for target shooting and the others for hunting . Or the other way is one with a scope and one without ; different competition class i.e. std or modified what ever your club calls them. With a scope you have 1-6 power then above x6 power , so you could get another two and have 3 of each caliber for competitions alone with Big Game . Not sure of Service Rifle

Unfortunately ( or fortunately ) the 505s are single square bridge magnum actions . The 303s are fine for BGRC plains game comps. The 303s aren’t service rifles . One is a Purdey double rifle . The other in my possession in a Lee Speed Type I model . I am having difficulties with PTA for an Army & Navy Type 1 Lee Speed . I am sure the permits will come through but it is very irritating .

Having two single square bridges is a very nice problem to have

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
