Completing the Super 10 in a hunter's lifetime seems to be a challenging, yet achievable goal. How many of you have completed the Super 10? what about the North American Super Slam?

Here's a link to the official website for those that haven't heard of this.

I'm officially starting my journey for the Super 10 starting this season as I don't believe the Super Slam (x29) is realistic in my case.

I like that it provides the opportunity to travel across the continent, harvesting one of each of the 10 big game animal classes with lots of choice and variety.

Those living out West have a real home-team advantage given that you can complete the majority of the 10 animals without having to leave your local state/province (i.e. British Columbia 9/10).
 
I am lacking a Caribou, and a Mountain Lion. Never heard on the Super 10
 
I have four out of ten but no aspirations to expand. Maybe a caribou. Probably. But as for the rest, I would rather hunt Africa. Even there I am not disinclined to hunt the same species over and over. How can anyone shoot just one kudu? They are one of the world's most spectacular trophies and such a challenge to hunt. And surprisingly plentiful. What's not to like?
 
I have 6 at the moment. I'm booked for bear in September in Michigan after a 10 yr wait.
And muskox in February.
I'll likely never get a sheep or goat. I dropped out of applying in Colorado as I'd rather spend the money on something further from home.
I've killed 2 aoudad if that counts anywhere also.

A Muskox hunt sounds like an adventure.
 
I am at 9.
Need a sheep to finish. Might not happen as I need to do it with a draw tag. A high dollar sheep hunt is out of the question.
I did draw a Montana mountain goat tag last year and managed to fill it with a nice billy unguided.
And also drew an Alaska Nunivak Island muskox tag for last season as well and took a good bull. I will say the muskox hunt wasn't much of a hunt, but the travel and adventure was fantastic.
I guess '23 was a damn fine year for me.

I have a fairly aggressive plan kicking off this year.

2024 - DIY deer, black bear and Moose. I hunt these 3 every year so If I don't get one this year I will have reoccuring hunts each year until I'm successful.

2025 - Guided elk hunt in Alberta

2026 - Guided caribou hunt in Northern Manitoba. Either DIY or guided pronghorn hunt in SK.

2027 - Guided Bison hunt AB/BC

2028 - Guided Goat and Mountain Lion in BC

2029-2034 - and for a finale a Sheep hunt in either BC or the Yukon. I have no idea how I'm going to make this happen financially but it would make for a great 10/10. I'm guessing rocky mountain bighorn is the most "affordable" of the sheep but I'm open to all other options.

I also have plans to hunt a few "extras" along the way including brown bear and Mule deer.
 
Interesting I had to look that up, seems I have 6 of them, would not be able to afford any in this day & age !
 
I have killed all 10 with a bow but have not registered it.

As to the super slam I have 23/29 most with a bow and a few with a rifle. Was a life goal to finish it, Probably would have been done with all 29 but got distracted hunting Africa! :D
 
Woo! Cool! Something achievable! Like a 1k marathon! Or, eating an entire bag of potato chips!

I'm missing sheep, goat, and bison.

Don’t want to rain on your parade but you’ll likely have to change your plans for pronghorn. There is not a hunt for non-residents for them in SK. The only exception I can think of is if there is an Indian reservation that allows it.
 
I need Caribou, Mtn Goat, Moose and Mtn Lion. I should have Caribou this year. So in theory I will have 3 to go, but not sure I will finish it. I would rather spend the time and finds chasing other things.

Been trying to draw some of these tags in several states, some states since 2005 with no luck. I keep debating Greenland for Caribou/Muskox or a DIY Alaska Caribou hunt. If anyone on AH is interested in trying to put one of these together let me know.

I have a few buddies that live and hunt in SK. I was assuming that non-resident Canadians could hunt with a local SK resident to get around the guide system, similar to other provinces.

I'm not seeing that detail in the reg summary though.

I’m sure it’s been done before but it wouldn’t be legal. As a Saskatchewan resident I have to be drawn to hunt them as well. I last got drawn in 2008 and have been applying every year since with no luck.

You might want to check if Canadian non-residents can hunt pronghorn in Alberta. There’s lots of members on here from that province that would know for sure. Wyoming would probably be your best bet.

And there’s always the option of moving out here!!!
 
I must admit that I have never heard of the Super 10. Looks like I have 9 out of the 10 covered but will probably never complete it, as I have no desire to shoot a cougar. I am old enough that I was able to hunt most of these critters without messing around trying to draw a tag, one of the few perks of being a senior citizen I suppose.

I would say Greenland was one of my best hunting trips I have ever been on. Definitely would recommend it.

AK caribou can be hit or miss.... more miss lately. If you have realistic expectations and not picky on what you shoot then it can still be ok.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.
