My 404 is finally done

That’s a Proper Rifle. Please share details, barrel length, weight, magazine capacity and let us know how she shoots. The metalwork is excellent, but the wood is outstanding. Congratulations on an excellent weapon

Gorgeous rifle!

What action is it built on?
Details:
Satterlee action, 23.5" 14 twist barrel. Not sure on the weight yet, have not put it on a scale. Magazine holds 3 down, I don't like drop box bottom metal. So far 82gr H4350 seems to be the winner, 10 rounds of softs and solids print into a 1.5" group. Glass is a Zeiss 1-6x24 in Alaska Arms OD rings. I have never used these rings before, but really like them. ¼ turn of the levers and they are locked down tight, and you do not have to "time" the levers like with Talleys.

Classy

Congrats

and well done to all involved

Very nice and the stock is different as its not dark.

After 2 years, it is in hand.
A few details, stock blank for Erdem Walnut.
Morris Milani did the custom barrel contour on a Krieger blank. He also did the metalwork and supplied the QD scope rings.
Stock work by Steve Durren.
Roger Kehr scratched the subtle engraving and gold inlay.
Photos by my great friend and retired photographer Ed G.

A 404 can do everything in Africa!

Note for younger people: the Peugot 404 was popular in the '60s-70s

I love the fotos.( and the old Kynoch ammo box). The rifle is classy without being gaudy.....and it has a proper bolt handle and knob......congrats and thanks for showing it.................FWB

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
