Someone was currently in Zimbabwe??

Is the "outfitter" a member of the ZPHGA?

Yes, hard to understand exactly but something doesn't smell right. Did the hunters approach the outfitter about cancelling because of rumors they heard or did the outfitter approach the hunters and provide rumors to discourage them from going???
is peace in the country(for tourists) or no ?
With alleged riots the hunt was cancelled.
Sorry that this is so badly translated by me.
@ Jeffrey: I don't know that.

Should be able to get a report from Tim and Cody if they made it back?

We just got back today.

Only issue we had was SAA losing my 450 Dakota ammo for nearly 3 days (arrived am on the 3rd day of the hunt). :(

Yes, fuel and water and electricity can be spotty in urban places. No issues for us in the bush...but if you are in the city, you may be impacted.

I would not hesitate to go there to hunt. When are we leaving? :)

No worries Foxi, I am more on edge driving through Houston, Texas! Road blocks were friendly, and seemed normal to me. Much less stressful than Mexican road blocks where you aren’t sure who is worse, cartel, federalies or local police.

There have certainly been "rallys" and issues with 26% increase in fuel prices, etc.

Whether, like protests in cities in South Africa, this means anything in the countryside to hunters...

We left Zim 9 days ago. No issues transiting through Harare to Dande. Apparently there were riots in downtown Harare while we were there but it was not an issue for us. We had a great hunt and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Just finishing our third safar today and fly home tomorrow. It’s hard to believe that a solid month of hunting is over.

I am currently in Waterberg Mtns in South Africa. The only issue currently being discussed are the riots/disturbances being currently held in Zim due to a nationwide public transportation strike that is creating mass stranding of citizens and workers trying to get to and from SA to Zim and back.

Just got back from Zimbabwe yesterday. Daytime power outages were normal. Non functioning traffic lights were the cause of some slow driving. Had no problems getting into or out of Harare. Hunted the Save Valley for 10 days had grid power at night but daytime we were on a generator.

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
