Vanguard VEO 2 AM Shooting Stick

Wife and I stepped it up to twice a week for the last two months or so.
Stick with it and it will work out.

The reason is that it's simple.

FYI - These sticks don't allow you to move left to right very much.
So as an animal is walking and you are waiting it to present a shot due to brush/trees/other animals...you have to reset the sticks.
Tripod with pivoting V-notch is much quicker...and more simple.
Just my .02 cents.

Primos Trigger Sticks or BOG POD...take your pick, because all they do is work.
If you want to move up a notch, African Sporting Creations has awesome sticks...and comes with a LIFETIME warranty!!!

Alright, you guys talked me out of the 4 Stable Stick, LOL.....canceled the order and have a Bog Pog HD tripod on the way from Midway, even got it on clearance with free shipping (y)

I have the original (screw to tighten) legs on my BOG-POD.
Flat spray paint green, brown and black to tone down the very RED foam and shiny black tops of the legs.
Trimmed the ears of the "V" notch to fit my crossbow and it works well for our rifles as well.

I'll see what I can do about posting a picture.

EDIT - Here's a picture.
This is the set we took to Africa with us and practiced with as well.

The stable sticks are awesome, there is a few different versions out there but they take some serious getting use. As mentioned you need the animal to be very still.

I regularly use bog pod and I have used trigger sticks in the field. Both are awesome and I would give a slight edge to the trigger sticks since it is easier to adjust height.

That's more than enough to make it really hard, regardless of the type of sticks you are using. If there's a technique for shooting from standing, in the wind, I've not found it.

Brace against your PH with him on the downwind side.

That's what got me to rethink the stable sticks, "need the animal to be very still".......none of them stand still for too long which got me to thinking on what the other guys mentioned about the stable stick having limited swing for your rifle when they do move.

At last....Take the advice those that.know....do not invent wheel.. og pod. They work

Well the Bog Pod HD showed up yesterday. Opened up the box to check it out and it looked pretty nice. Sadly when I extended the first leg it self destructed, shims of some kind fell to the floor, and leg fell off. Not a very good first experience to say the least. Couldn’t get the leg to go back on so got a return label and shipped it back to Midway.

Damn dude...you are having crap luck with this.
Sooooo...what's next?
Another try with the BOG-POD or something else?
Step up to the African Sporting Creations 3-section super compact?

Let us know and I hope it works out for you.

Feel like I’m jinxed here, LOL. Looking at another BOG-POD, their DeathGrip model, and the African Sporting 3-section sticks. The later just seems over priced to me ($350-$400?!). This DeathGrip Bog-Pog is supposed to be beefier and can even be used prone. Not cheap ($250) but you get what you pay for more often than not. Going to run to Cabela’s after I get my motorcycle serviced this morning and take a hard look at the options instead of ordering blindly over the Net.

I gotta say first that I love my two sets of BOG-PODs but...
The ASC is a wicked simple solution.
They just screw together and done.
They also collapse down a bit smaller than the BP's.

This is the direction I'm going - once I work the OT needed.
Yep they are pricey, but I believe you get what you pay for.

Keep the shiny side up.

Be careful when purchasing ANY stick setup. If you are tall, some of them won't work with a long gun and you standing upright. I'm six feet and bought the Vanguard Quest T62U and they are too short for me to use with a long rifle from the standing position. I have to lean forward and then it's wobble city. They list 62" tall but that's folded. The dimension needed is with the legs extended. I like the NEW Primos Gen 3, the legs lock in the out position or can be moved outward even more, lifting the lock. They are still short but now come with an adapter for cameras and optics. I'm going to buy a set and re-engineer them for my height.

Broke down and ordered a set of ASC sticks today. Got the larger version of their three piece, super compact model. Can throw these in my duffel bag as they collapse down to 26". Also their most rigid set. Will let you all know how they look when they get here.

This is Jim from African Sporting Creations and I made your sticks in our shop in Ohio. Our average customer has purchased six other types of shooting sticks before they come to us for their last set. They are the only ones on the market that are covered by an unconditional lifetime warranty and we build them so that never comes into play. Enjoy and thanks again for your purchase.

I'll get there Jim.
Gimmie a little time and I'll get there.
Probably by the end of this year or the beginning of next...you will be hearing from me.

Cheers.

Thanks, Newboomer. This absolutely works, including better accuracy with and without wind.

I've tried this on several outings by just touching my strong side elbow to the corner post (for the cover over shooting area) and also used a human once.

Using my son as PH got me good hits at 325 yards last week. Just practice, wind wad not really significant.

Mr. Post (today) resulted in good hits (4 of 4 at ~ 6") on steel at 425 Yds. Wind crossing at 6 to 8 mph.

Tons of dry fire and lots of live fire make the biggist difference over time.
