Hunting in Africa with your closest family members and the best outfitter is an experience you don't forget. our grandfather wanted to take his grand-daughters to Africa to get the opportunity to hunt some cool animals. Our dad got to come along as our camera man and ended up shooting a few animals himself, only because the PH's we had with Leopard Legend safari's gave us the opportunity to have all the animals on our wish list in our sights. We had 8 animals we wanted to harvest and we ended up getting 12 animals at the end of the trip. The PH's with this outfitter goes over and above to get you the chance at an animal you couldn't imagine in your sights until its happening.

After our long flight from the US we flew into Johannesburg and stayed the night in a hotel. We got up the next morning and caught a flight to Windhoek. We were greeted by the Leopard Legend and they took us all the way to Etosha National Park for a couple nights staying and touring the park. We were then taken to our hunting lodge in Outjo where the Leopard Legend hunting lodge is at. We were greeted so kindly by the owner/PH. They showed us our rooms and made sure we were more then comfortable. We all had lunch together and that's when we knew this was going to be a good time. The people who own this place Lywk and Julene are the kindest people you will ever meet. We felt like we had met before and by the end of the trip you could say they were like an Aunt and Uncle to us. They always put you before themselves and made sure you had a drink in your hand and food in your belly all while finding you the animal of your dreams to harvest.

We went out that afternoon we got there, made sure the guns were sighted in and went for a drive. We came across a group of gemsbuck. We put a short stalk on one, got the sticks set up and the PH got the animals attention while it was in my sights. The animal stopped and i pulled the trigger. The gemsbuck didn't go far and we were already on the board.

We went out the next day and came across some Wildebeest which was on my sisters list to harvest. She took her shot and dropped him. Unfortunately it was a little high and he jumped back up. The PH's and trackers started their long journey and after 24 hours of tracking we finally got another bullet in him completing the mission. From there on out we knew the Leopard Legend wasn't just about taking your money they cared about you and making sure you went home happy! They wanted you to get the animal you came there for and they would do anything to make sure it was a trophy and an experience to remember while getting the animal. They like to have a good time while you do it too, everyone joking around either driving or around the table telling stories. I don't think I have laughed and had that much fun in a very long time. Their food was amazing and they made sure you had every kind of drink you may want stocked before you even got there!

The rest of the days were just as exciting from sitting in a blind and getting a trophy warthog and impala to hiking up and down some hills to put a stalk on a gorgeous kudu. We will definitely be going back to this outfitter. You truly don't know what to expect when you are booking with an outfitter all through email that you have never met. And we have been to a couple other outfitters throughout Africa, NON of them were as enjoyable to take you hunting as the Leopard Legend. Your PH can make or break your hunt and they made our hunt.

If your undecided who to go through in Namibia, choose Leopard Legend. I promise you wont regret it! The only thing I regret is still not being there!!

Thank you Lywk and Julene for making our special African safari truly a trip of a lifetime! See you again soon!!

What a classic looking lodge!
What rifle/cartridge did you use to take those great trophies?

Excellent report and great photos. Sounds like a very memorable family hunt. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice indeed. My favorite is always the kudu. Just love the animal but that’s not to take anything away from the others

What a generous grandfather you have! I understand his motivation. I have thought about the fun to be had and memories made with such a trip. Congratulations
