Leaving for Joberg on Delta 200 in early July, checked our seats last nite ....they have been changed...we had economy class Bulkhead against the outside for each of us...oh oh..Been changed by Delta to center and aisle a few rows back, so we called..on hold for twenty minutes and got the to change back to original seating....of the four trips in as many years, we have had the same experience three years..always an excuse, but in reality they changed in all probability got frequent flyers with lots of miles.. We are frequent flyers also, just not with the miles. These seats were booked in January and reserved with payment. We check those seats weekly, they give you no advance notice of change..first time it happened two days prior to departure, my son called the president of Delta, he works and travels for a Fortune 50, spoke with the secretary..immediately got the seats back...free. Maybe these airlines need the Government supervision back in for the consumer...they are asking for it to be involved with the recent activity. So. A heads up boys....check your seat assignments.. Surprises are only enjoyable at Christmas, not when traveling.

Happened to me. Leaving in less than a month. I got bumped from my bulkhead aisle in economy plus to the last row of economy plus. Told it was to make room for a passenger with medical needs.

Some of the bulkhead or exit row seats are reserved for the miles members with status. The best bet I've found is to pay for Comfort Plus. For about $200 each way you get a much better seat and it's guaranteed! I try to get Comfort Plus bulkhead and that is the best you can get outside of Business Class. My June Safari was kinda last minute so I'm stuck in a center seat but still in Comfort Plus. Happy travels!
Regards,
Philip

You can change your seats yourself online, usually for free if it's the same class of seat.

Phillip, those were our seats economy comfort plus and they were changed from bulkhead to three rows back, and no you can not switch seats back yourself online if those seats that we originally booked are no longer available...and those economy comfort from our experience..3 out of 4 years were changed are not guaranteed. The last four years we always travel on the economy comfort.

The disclaimer is there on the website that those seats my be taken for passengers with special needs. I don't like it much but that's the nature of flying these days.

Very little is a guarantee anymore..... especially with air travel. That happened with me with both Delta & Emirates..... Both were eventually remedied. Not to full satisfaction. Travel is such a PITA nowadays.

I am going to register as a vertically challenged minority. That should make sure I get one of those seats right?!

Don't all Economy Comfort Plus seats offer the same amount of individual space?

I discovered that you are not actually buying a product or service. You are buying a chance.
This comes to mind.

I am aware of it, but we have been changed seats in Economy Plus Comfort when we were either aisle three rows back from bulkhead surely can not be for someone with special needs. My desire for the bulkhead is due to arthritis in both knees and a 10 inch steel plate in one leg, but i do not play that card, just book early enough to get the seats desired. Nine seats in Economy comfort bulk head and 9 more in bulkhead for economy behind the bathrooms, plus seats in the rear that seemed to always unavailable. Just need to accept and deal with the cattle car mentality of the airlines, and greyhound of the skies...not much choice.

I'm not vertically challenged as you are........but I do identify that way.......you think that'll work?

Give it a whirl. Are you going to borrow some stilts to at least appear to be part of the crowd.

I don't think I should dignify that oppressive reply.

Yes! Do it Wayne.....big the champion for all people with very long legs!

Areaonreal, you sound like me. My injuries resulted from a head on collision between my motorcycle and a car with each of us going 55 MPH. Thanks for the info on the Bulkhead seats.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is bulkhead?

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
