So I just told my wife.....

This winter I finished a walk-in-closet for my wife, which enables my trophy room to be finished. Then I booked a new hunt this summer to Africa, where I had to send my wife to NY shopping too make it.
Next year I plan to take the kids and wife to SA doing a combined hunting/safari.
And my new double was in an exchange for my old Tikka T3, going "same, same, but different"

Seems to me like you've approached this all wrong. You need to think like a wife. When they buy something on special they justify it by how much they "saved". So you need to show her some pictures and prices of some Holland and Holland doubles. Once she has got back up off the floor show her a Verney Carron catalogue and show her how much you will save by buying it.

I show my better half costs of full bag safaris in Tanzania, so when I saved up for my lioness in SA she was like wow that's a good price you better do it. I show her Marco Polo sheep hunts now as I want to do a Dall Sheep hunt ;)

This method does work!

So time to find some Holland and Holland rifles for sale!

@LivingTheDream and you published "the method" :A Bang Head: :A Naughty: This is to be spread by word of mouth only and never published.

@PHOENIX PHIL time is running out....

Phil you will get one. As a single parent of two kids with one who was in college at the time I thought I'd never see the light of owning a double, but it happened. Keep on it my friend.

There's other ways.... Unreported tax returns, bonuses, lottery winnings, etc.... Not that I condone any of these such decisions.... Wink, wink.... Hell he could have won it on a bet for all she knows.... I'm just saying.... What is the definition of is, is.....

This is hilarious! Just happened to me today. Came home for lunch from working on my boat and the wife casually says, "Bob called, your gun is there". So I replied with, "gun, really, hmm, well that's interesting".o_O As if I had no clue what she was talking about! Didn't fool her of course, but the conversation went no further, and that's what counts right?

I can confirm this method works. Just convinced my wife to let me do a lion hunt this summer using this very technique, along with expressing concerns about the end of lion hunting in RSA.

Lion hunting is the best! Jealous!!! Can't wait to read the report!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
