Wow!!!

To those who say "I only want to hunt hippo on land," you're a bunch of wimps! ;)

Terrific film footage!

I have hunted them on land and must agree that in comparison doing so was pretty 'wimpy'.

Just imagine how I feel now having hunted them from a nice high bank off of the river while one was in the water!!!! :A Wheelchair:

. . . just call us a couple of wimps.

Interesting old video.

The hippo becomes a pin cushion. Amazing the number of floats it is dragging. Looks like the guy with the rifle misses the brain from 15 feet.

Kind of reminds me of the hippo hunt in the old Africa Addio video.

Amazing....I suppose hunger makes you brave.

Crazy! I cant believe how he was jumping like a trout! Im sure more than a few hunters become "hippo snacks" on a hunt like that!!!

Makes me wNt to hunt Hippo!

That was crazy. I guess after so many floaters it forces them to the shore. You wonder how long have they been doing that?

Maybe they learned from early Whale hunters.

Where do I sign up?!?

Wheels, I agree with each of the points you made.

I realize it's off-topic and apologize, but I also find it unfortunate that in today's society the mid-60's film 'Africa Addio' has been slammed as nothing more than blatant racism. That's unfortunate. Even after nearly five decades I think in many ways the film remains an accurate depiction of what goes on in some areas of Africa today.

The pendulum has swung along ways in 50 years.

Not quite sure how filming people of any color doing what they do could possibly be racist? Fabricating something like this, yes, filming it and rebroadcasting it, no way.

Diamondhitch, I couldn't agree with you more. The ongoing campaign to point a finger and shout 'racism' to rationalize or diminish questionable behavior and also at times when highly illegal acts are involved has been very successful. Political correctness at its best.

However, the shouts of racism have now become so overused that many people are simply ignoring it as the "little boy who cried wolf" syndrome.

All i know is i would have been in the water with that hippo if i had to spear him from that canoe!! Top heavy and bad balance+flimsy canoe...

Hemmingway "Out of Africa" dinner for our clients

We love going the extra mile for our clients. The best feeling in the world is our clients going "Wow! this is amazing thank you"
Having had a successful hunt, having happy clients leave camp. There is nothing better.
Knowing that they will return again next year as a friend.
