A little while back I saw a photo of a different style eland mount than I have ever seen before.
It was the head on a shield. Like a skull on a shield, but with the hide and the full head taxidermied and it was cut in a way it laid flat on the shield like a skull would do.
It was an interesting way to do an eland to preserve the mop but without taking the full space of a shoulder mount eland.
However, now when I try to search for it, I can't find any examples of it. The one I saw was well done. I don't know that I would like that style mount on many animals, but I remembered liking it on the eland.
If anyone has a mount like that, or has success finding photos of one, I'd love if you would post them.
