I'm looking at Mid-Asian Ibex hunts for this year in Kyrgyzstan. Do any of you have outfitters/booking agents that you recommend I use or stay away from. I appreciate any help that you can provide.

Asian mountain outfitters.
I am torn between doing a Combo Tur & mid Asian ibex hunt or going to Mozambique
Good luck on your hunt, I am sure someone else has already done a similar hunt and has a good recommendation

Start with the Asian outfitter exhibitors who have booths at the DSC and/or SCI conventions and talk with them. If you're not attending either one, google the conventions and search for "exhibitor list". I've done business with Shikar Safaris, Wild Hunting Outfitters Asia, and Worldwide Trophy Adventures. All are well known with great reputations, are supporter/members of SCI and DSC, and have booths at the conventions every year. There are two phenomenal Russian outfitters; one with whom I've worked with. Professional Russian Outfitters and Profihunt. Both members of DSC and SCI. You won't have to fly into Moscow to connect for your hunt. You'd go to Türkiye and connect from there. You can google them all and ask for information.

Yes most definitely I glanced at my list and Asian mountain outfitters should have been scratched out / deleted , they have cheated quite a few people and are banned from WSF last I checked

Yes, I'm aware of Bryan Martin and would never consider him.
I can't make SCI or DSC shows, but I will be attending the Wild Sheep Show in a couple weeks. Already sent emails to outfitters and booking agents attending. Some have answered and some haven't.
Does anyone have input on John Martins, Global Hunting Safaris? He also has Discount African Hunts.

Sorry to mislead anyone it’s https://frontier.com.tr/en/
Turkish frontier who can do the tur & mid Asian ibex combo
I figure it’s worth the extra time to do both on the same trip because the air time is so extreme in time ?

Interesting combination considering their ranges don’t overlap.

Its in Russia, you hunt the Tur and then go for Sayan (Mid Asian) definitely some travel involved but I have seen this or at least something similar offered by a few people. As cool as it would be hunt a Tur it probably isnt in the cards for me.

That would be a massive amount of travel across some time zones! Hunt Tur near Georgia then ibex where Russia meets Kazakhstan and Mongolia. Too bad Russia will be a risky country for Americans for some time.

My brother just did a hunt with Global Safaris for Ibex in Kyrgyzstan, had a great time and they'd be someone to check out. Here's a video the outfitter posted of his hunt.

The Asian Mountain Outfitters I’m familiar with was owned by Bryan Martin. He’s bad news, screwed a bunch of hunters. Not sure if this is the same but stay away if so.

I have a good friend who has hunted with Asif ILYASOV several times and had great hunts each time. Shot a couple ibex and a Marco Polo with him. At a minimum he’s worth talking to. Hunts in quite a few Asian countries.

No desire to go through Russia
It is Istanbul turkey, to Baku Azerbaijani for Tur then to Dushanbe Tajikistan for mid Asian ibex
It’s the automobile driving in country that consumes the most time. And altitude acclimation,
To tell the truth I would rather spend my money in Africa then do micro bursts goat hunting in the oxygen red zone @ 4-5000 meters, lots of these hunts go bad trying for a ibex and argali sheep combo, that’s why the outfitters want to break the combo into Tur & ibex ( lots of YouTube videos of hunters wonking out during their runs at it Argali & ibex )

Dog it the more I write about it the lesser the desire to go !

The Ai summary of him
“”
Online hunting forums contain multiple reports and detailed allegations that
Bryan Martin, operating primarily through his company Asian Mountain Outfitters, has accepted significant deposits for international sheep hunts and then failed to pay the local guides and outfitters, effectively "stealing" the clients' money.
According to posts on the **NOT**PERMITTED** Forum and **NOT**PERMITTED**' Forums, hunters arrived in Asia for their booked hunts only to find that the local outfitters had not received payment and refused service until they were paid in cash. In one documented instance, clients discovered that Bryan Martin had allegedly not transferred over $40,000 for Marco Polo sheep hunts.
As a result of these issues, the Wild Sheep Foundation(WSF) expelled Bryan Martin and Asian Mountain Outfitters from their organization.
Bryan Martin also previously ran a British Columbia hunting operation called Canadian Mountain Outfitters from 1999 to 2010. While some historical posts mention this outfitter positively in the context of "dream hunts", the more recent and severe allegations of deposit fraud are primarily associated with his Asian operations. “”

Not to hijack the thread but I’m also looking for outfitters for Kyrgyzstan and curious if anyone has any experience with Stalker group? I’ve spoken with another member here but curious if anyone else has input on them?

Profihunt or Niel & Brownlee would be safe bets for professionally ran and quality hunts for most all Asian species.

N&B are based out of Oklahoma but have been around forever and do a great job all over the world.

Profihunt is out of Moscow but attends all our major shows including sheep show and SCI…they book a ton of traveling American hunters.
I’ve worked with both and you won’t go wrong with either.

The tur and sayan ibex combo is a thing now.

I’m sure they provide good hunts and the pricing looks very competitive until you see a lot of the extra they throw in that falls under the standard price of the hunt for most agents.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
