I am torn between doing a Combo Tur & mid Asian ibex hunt or going to Mozambique
Good luck on your hunt, I am sure someone else has already done a similar hunt and has a good recommendation

Can you hunt the Tur and Ibex together? To my knowledge it is not within the same region. I'll hunt Dagestan Tur this September.

Baku Azerbaijani for Tur

They have not hunting them in Azerbeidzjan for several years. I know because I checked. It is only for the time being in Russia and depending on the subspecies also in Georgia. Outfitters will list them and when checking there is no quota given for them in Azerbeidzjan.

I would go if you want an Ibex for the Siberian ibex. You will not find better prices then at the current time.

I have heard so many bad rumors that I would not think of booking without the collective wisdom of the AH community! May well be as important who NOT to book with as who TO book a hunt with.

Hunted ibex in Kyrgyzstan in 2019 with my wife and took two great billies. Booked thru Tim Herald who then booked it thru Martin AMO. Was a bit of a shit show with AMO (dates rebooked, no hotel bookings, PH on ground not given full details, trophy export issues etc etc etc) but we worked around all that and had an awesome adventure.

Would love to do a tur hunt but Azerbaijan has not had any quota for some years now and is not open in 2026 for tur. Waiting game ....

I’m looking into this. I’ve talked to Safari-Pro outfitters at the last two DSC shows. They are a little unique in that their price includes travel assurance, booking your airfare and the freight and customs getting it home. They also have a taxidermist who will do the work at significant discount as part of the package. I like the one stop shop aspect.

Downside is they are small and I haven’t been able to talk to many who have used them.

I get nervous flying to Asia with agin and hoping the right people are there with the right permits etc.

Anyone used them or know someone who has?

I would talk to Mark Audino with caprinae safaris about an Asian hunt, especially in any of the “Stans”.
