I just received the May/June issue of Sporting Classics. The inside front cover sports the strangest, silliest most mockable magazine ad I’ve ever seen. Setting aside the argument of using an AR for dangerous game, what’s the dude doing? Vaulting over a pair of Cape Buffalo in full camo holding a contraption that may be a rifle? I’d like to see this become an Olympic event!

And to think someone got paid to come up with that.

That's not an AR. That's The Fix bolt action. The one in the ad is chambered for 8.6 BLK which can lob a 300gr bullet at around 1,000 fps. It has one heck of twist rate. I like his chances against a pair of buffalo with that setup! ;)

I'd pay to watch how that pans out... :A Skull:

PS - The motto of the company is "Live Q or Die". Might want to change that "or" to an "and".

The buffalo probably think the same thoughts I have. “What a moron.” Too bad this stuff is getting a foothold.
Yes and then they come to the real world and end up on youtube……think we all know the title to that video “hoof holed”…. But I must say I do admire the adrenaline skills of the guy….love to be able to clear not one but two buffs in a single bound :ROFLMAO:

I guess I will never really understand the appeal of this type of rifle for hunting. I don’t think I’m really all that old at 66, just a traditionalist. Give me nice walnut and blued steel!

Yeah, that’s Q. They’re known for outlandish marketing with a controversial owner. He has a few Africa hunt vids posted if you’re interested in watching.

Maybe he's "letting the buffalo decide how to die...."

No, I’m good

The May/June issue is the slimmest I can remember. I get that it’s off season here in NA, but I’m sure Sporting Classics is hungry for advertisers. I guess we can expect more black guns and tactical stuff in our favorite sporting magazines. I think Gray’s Sporting Journal will be the coal mine canary. When I see an add for this stuff there, it’ll be time for me to wander out on an ice flow.

That model with the rifle isn’t vaulting. That’s him getting tossed up into the air by a Cape buffalo when old African Black Death has finally had enough of the model’s new tacti-cool toy…

I just saw Budsgunshop.com has both the guide gun and the African for $1150. FWIW - I bought both and decided to use the Guide gun - I restocked it in a Bell and Carlson stock and I added the Alaska arms floor plate to add a round. I wanted the shorter barrel as I will use a suppressor. I wont go lower than $1100, but I will ship it and no sales tax.

Let me know if you are interested
