Closest that I know of that was in production would be the now discontinued Blaser S2. Along with a number of other unique, modern innovations like a tilting block that never goes off face, adapted to scope use from the factory, etc it was finished in Blaser's proprietary finish that made it immune to almost any weather conditions.

Man I wanna be like YOU guys when I grow up lol

French Gray has been totally normal on doubles forever. I see nothing wrong with stainless, especially as well executed as the rifle in the video.

It's not a double but I got the the A-bolt in the center, stainless with walnut stock, for my son when he was 13. Everyone that sees that gun notices it, swoons over it, and asks about it. I imagine the same thing would happen with a walnut and stainless double.

@DelRock83,

i too have wondered about a stainless double rifle, functionally it would be hard to beat as an all weather, hunt anywhere gun. but i have never seen one.

special coating help, but stainless is hard to beat for corrosion resistance. with a nice wood stock, i agree with rubber head, it would be a stunner.

That Fuch’s is beautiful; though bright, shiny stainless isn’t ideal in a hunting situation.

I’ve seen some well-worn doubles that PHs carry that could almost pass for stainless…almost no blue remaining.

I’m with @Rubberhead when it comes to stainless and walnut. Here’s a few of mine. I had my go-to .30-06 bead blasted to dull the finish.

Verney will make you a stainless double if you are prepared to pay for it

I'm gonna admit on a level of 1-10....I be on the level of .5 lol....but my logic was of all the things that have to be taken into account during a hunt maintaing my rifle is one thing I wouldn't wanna worry about until I got back to camp or home.

Man that's nothing but firearm pornography

How about a Shiloh Sharps? Got this at auction a few years back. Somewhere along its life it got rusty and the owner sanded the finish off the barrel. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was getting, but I actually love this rifle. Great bore and great wood. .45-70

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
