Hi guys,
just been sent this pic by someone, not sure who the hunter is, where it was hunted or anything.
It is apparently 62", no idea if that is reliable or not.
Its a pretty impressive trophy though so i thought i would share it.
Cant tell if the pic has been photoshopped or anything.
I was hoping someone here knows who the hunter is and can share more details or give us the story.

That is one spectacular kudu! He is 62!

I can't see any artifacts of a Photoshop job.

Although the hunter is hiding in the bush behind the trophy in the picture it certainly has some deep curls and goes around the third time. Sure looks 60 plus to me.

Fortunate hunter.

I would be more than willing to take the chance and measure it on the ground. :)

this kudu was taken 20 years ago the one horn measured over 59" and the other was just below 59" i never hunted another kudu bull unti April this year when I saw this one which measured just over 54"

they are truly magnificent animals, and I am blessed to have been able to hunt them.

the top picture is obviously the 54" and taken in April 2014.

hi bassasdaindia
those are some nice kudu...

brickburn,
if i am ever fortunate enough to take a kudu that size, i would find it hard to sit still for the photo!

I do spend quiet a lot of time in the South African bush, either hunting or with my wife in various bush resorts and the bigger bulls have become harder and harder to find.

Yep, i can imagine they are getting harder to find.
I will be heading to a game farm tomorrow, been asked to take off 2 big bulls. will see if i can get some pics of any nice trophies.

It's a Kudu stud both in horn length and body size. I would love to just see one of those in the bush.

Shot this one in 2013 about three days after the photo was taken! Smaller one to the left was actually very young and will make a good one some day.

What dreams are made of!

I took this 56" bull on the afternoon of June 23 on the first day of a 7 day hunt in Limpopo, South Africa. This was on my first trip to Africa. Talk about being blessed!!

That smile says it. Very nice bull.

BigTexMan that is a beautiful kudu!

This is a photo of my first Kudu taken with a bow in 2012 with Henry Griffiths Safaris. Although I got a bit hasty and did not shoot the largest bull that Henry had on the concession (I got kudu fever) I am in no way sorry that I took this beautiful bull. He was something that I had wanted since our first trip to Namibia in 2007 and so to not only take a bull but also to make the perfect shot on him was worth more than horn length to me. My husband was with me in the hide when I shot this bull and that makes it extra special since he has been my hunting partner for about 35 years now. I was with him when he shot is 58 inch kudu in 2007 so you can see that Kudu is definitely a special animal to us. They remind me of a large bull elk in their majestic way of moving. I hope to hunt again with Henry and this time will surely wait longer for a larger bull. I also harvested a zebra, wildebeest, and blesbok female on the trip. I could not have asked for a better hunt or PH.

The hunt makes the trophy, not the inches!!!

That is a special animal indeed. Congrats! And welcome to AH! :)
