Good afternoon,

I'm looking to import my dad's rifle from South Africa, has anyone had luck importing rifles from Africa or has a contact that does imports? Any advice help would be appreciated.

The rifle was my grandfathers Win model 70 pre 64- 375 HH. It has sentimental value to me and I would like to import it before my father is no longer with us, otherwise it will be impossible to get to the US.

Thanks!

@Gert Odendaal can help you. I purchased a rifle from him. He went through everything on the SA side (which was quite extensive) and the coordinated with the U.S. Importer I hired which made it simple for me.

MMBImports.com (in the U.S.) who I highly recommend.

Thanks for the info

Best wishes to you on this sentimental journey. Please keep us updated.

I have done it about 2 yrs ago, with right people and about $2000 later I got the gun within 6-8 weeks. The cost adds up here and there quickly. If you need more info on who and what You cam pm me , happy to help

Thank you for the reply! Will def pm you.

I actually completed this last year for a similar rifle. Do you have a contact person in SA who currently possesses the rifle? They will be required to start the process on their side?

I will PM you the details and costs I incurred as well as who was involved in the entire process.

Long and detailed message in your inbox with contact details for who assisted me in 2023 and total costs for the exercise ($2140) which is in line with LP67's post above.

Hello! I saw your post from last year about a missing crate from your hunt in Moz. I am curious how that all turned out? We (my fiancé and I) also hunted in Moz in 2024 and the trophies are being shipped with Hunters Services Limitada. We have some concerns on whether we will get the trophies home or not. May I ask who you hunted with?
