Here is a picture of the auction tag winner and his Antelope Island mule deer in Utah.

His bid was $500,000 for the tag, there is still a Utah resident hunter out there that has the same tag that he got through the draw process.

All I can say is that is one bunch of sandwiches from JJ's

There is also a $725,000 mule deer tag in Arizona that should be popping up.

I have only attended this auction 4 times.....as a spectator and a friend/advisor to a rich guy. The amount of money paid for these tags is crazy. My friend dropped out of Antelope Island at $360,000.
There is so much money in the world now, that unheard of prices for tags, ranches, collectors items are the norm. I'm guessin that the 725K us the new record price for a deer?.........thanks for posting.....FWB

I've always said this is a really smart way to raise money for conservation. Could you imagine what China would get for a panda if they did this once a decade?
Pandas gotta be worth some serious dough if the mulies go for half a million dollars. Hell of a fundraiser.

Can this type of expense be written off as a charity type event? Does not matter to me and my finances but I can see where that would interest big money folks to step up and have an appetite for this type of auction and tag purchase. You still have to have the cash to buy the tag.

Absolutely. Auction Events hosted by 501c’s and most going to state departments and or wildlife foundations

Accountant says burn some cash! Buy a governors tag…. Not a bad idea

28,000 acre high fence area without much thick cover. Whatever blows the skirt and floats the boat

Is that really what you think happened? This is a strange comment. Last year the Utah governors tag buck was killed in Oak creek unit. I was not aware any of these wildlife units were “high fence” in the state of Utah.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
