Big News! On October 2nd, the U.S. federal district court in Arizona dismissed a challenge from anti-hunting organizations who sought to overturn permits issued for the import of sport-hunted leopards. SCI was the only organization to intervene in the litigation to defend the permits, many of which were issued to SCI members. Based largely on SCI’s arguments, the court held that the plaintiffs do not have legal standing to challenge the permits. SCI is thrilled with the decision and is celebrating that sustainable leopard hunting programs in southern Africa can continue without threat of a U.S. import ban. If the plaintiffs appeal the decision, SCI will continue to zealously defend leopard imports and support sustainable use conservation!
This is great news for hunters.

That is indeed great news!

OUTSTANDING! We have to keep up the fight

I hope everyone reads this carefully. SCI WAS THE ONLY ORGANIZATION INVOLVED IN THE LAWSUIT!
I hope this encourages more folks to join SCI.

Great news and good job to SCI. Keep up the fight. Sustained-use wildlife conservation is the future to maintain and increase wildlife populations both domestically and internationally. Habitat encroachment is the biggest threat facing wildlife including the great cats. See you at the SCI Convention in Nashville soon! Happy hunting, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.
