Good Gun Deals This Week

Have you guys ever been scammed on Armslist?
It kinda gives me hives...
I have always had good luck on GB or GI.

GI has a Dumoulin FN Mauser 338 Win Mag @ $2695. Thoughts?
Or I guess talk me out of it….

I will talk you into buying this one. 1/2 the money. Perfect "Alaska Gun" even though the Tupperwear stock is boring. But totally the perfect tool for big sh*t in crappy weather.

I have been fight off the urge to "Buy It Now" for days. I would put it in a better stock and cerokote it and be right about the same price as that Mauser

Did not get taken do to @Bullthrower338 running defence for me. There was a great deal on a gun I wanted. Something was just not right. I sent the money to Cody and he drove by the address which was an empty lot or crack house or something..... So yea, potential is big for scams.

With the scope it's a great deal at today's pricing. Most good condition older Sako's, bare rifle, have been selling for $1400-1800+ lately.
Was bought for $1050

Hopefully to someone here

Hendershots has a B Searcy 470 NE for $13k, for anyone looking for a double. Not sure if this is a good deal or not.

The Dorotheum auction house (it's in Vienna) has just posted its latest 'Sporting and Vintage Guns' catalogue online: https://www.dorotheum.com/en/a/94447/
It usually tends to weird calibres and ugly rifles, but occasionally an old Westley Richards or Rigby might appear - not this time though. It also tends to be rather expensive.
One particularly weird lot is at lot 43. As I understand matters, the pistol grip acts as a bolt, being pushed backwards and forwards to load the breach. Presumably either the palm safety or the moving element of the action also moves the trigger back so that you can get a finger in front of it; if you are reloading quickly, I would imagine that you need to get your index finger out of the trigger guard in order to cycle the action. It comes with an absurdly large 'scope which is well off the barrel, and it's been stocked by someone moonlighting from his day job as a fence-post maker. On the other hand, it is chambered in 8mm. Mauser, which is a common round.

I think I've seen one in real life once. If I remember correctly it is like a bullpop pump-action. But the trigger does not move with pistolgrip/triggerguard. It is lightning fast to reload. Although I find other mechanisms, like the Krieghoff Semprio much more elegant.

I’m not sure, but I feel as though there was a member looking for a sporter stock for a R8. I just came across one in Canada for 3k. I’d be tempted to get it myself, but any Blaser build will be a ways down the road.

I also just saw a Ruger No1 in 338 Win Mag for $1650 CAD. Too bad none of the members here really like those guns……

Nice looking rifle.
Krish
If it is what it's listed as, there are many on here who will want it, I'm sure. I'd love to have it but expect it will far exceed my budget!
I expect it is. C&H built a lot of rifles between the wars on P14 actions. I have a .318 WR by them from that period that follows the same general configuration. This rifle was also built on a P14.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.

Hi EGS

I read your thread with interest. Would you mind sending me that PDF? May I put it on my website?
