Just received this vonGruff boning knife today. it is truly spectacular. I forget the name of the wood, but it is from the batch that Garry got from Lithuania. Photographs don't do the depth of the grain justice.

Very nice! @Von Gruff that is very nice wood. Is is from Lithuania?

Thank you Ray ( @Ray B ) for the kind words and indeed that is a very nice wood. It is Karelian Birch (dyed chocolate brown.) .
These are a couple of pics I took before shipping and like you say it is hard to show the grain and colour in this handle.

Yes it is stabilised and sometimes dyed Karelian Birch from Lithuania. Bogdan has some wonderfull colours and his sister Katarina is super prompt with shipping.

there are blues, greens and multicolours as well but he does not have all colours all the time as he does batch dyeing and stabilising as orders or requests mount

That wood would make some beautiful rifle stocks.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.
