Your 3 favorite hunting cartridges of all time

Good old 30/06 with 180 grs bullets
340 wby with 250 grs bullets
375 H&H-375WBY with 300 grs bullets
450 ackley magnumg 500 grs
and finally 470 nitro with 500grs bullets
I thought the title of this thread was "Your 3 Favorite Hunting Cartridges of All Time". Is this some of that "new" math you are trying to pass by us?

7mm-08
280 Rem & 280 AI
338 Win Mag (My confidence in this rifle keeps growing...)

I have posted on here before without really reading the question, so I posted my 3 favourite rifles. However my three favourite hunting cartridges are 22lr shot from my Ace 22 rifle, 16 gauge shot shells fired from my Cooey full choke single shot, and lastly 308 Norma Mag from my Husqvarna bolt action.
These 3 firearms have provided most of my table fair over my lifetime.

  • 308 Norma Magnum
  • 375 H&H Magnum

.22 LR
.270 win
7mm rem mag
9.3x62
I know it’s more than 3 but I like them all.

I don't remember if I replied to this or not. However, having a 375 H&H now, this is how my list would be.

22LR
257 Weatherby
375 H&H

This list might change tomorrow. LOL!!!!

I am currently of the opinion for pg...

A drilling 12ga/12ga/9,3×74R with a 7x57mm insert barrel and interchangeable chokes is the way I want to go.

Always wanted a something different pg setup

I know it’s more than 3 but I like them all.

You put the same gun twice (270win/7mmRem)

12 gauge, 22 LR, 375 H&H... at least those are what I've killed the most critters with;)

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
