My wife and I will be moving from Maryland to Florida this fall. This new house has a "Flex" room. This room has been deemed the "Africa" room and all my trophies must fit within its confides. In this room I have decided to also have a framed print of a great renown African hunter on each wall. So... I am limited to 4. I have thought this over and have decided on one wall will be a framed print of Ruark and Selby with the Waterbuck discussed in Horn of the Hunter. On another wall will be a framed Hemingway standing at a profile with Kilamanjaro in the background. On wall number 3 there will be a framed Teddy Roosevelt on Safari on horseback with his famous rifle "Bad Medicine". and for the last wall I chose the famed print of Frederick Courteney Selous seated with his rifle on his lap and 2 Kori Bustards by his side. The only problem with the Selous print is that I have not been able to find one bigger than 215K so I can only make it a 5X7, while the others are 11x14's or 16x20's. I guess that's OK being as it is a much older photo. So... agree? Disagree? Have I made a huge mistake? Do you have any better ideas. I do know that Hemingway isn't exactly famous for just his Africa stuff... but I love him so much I had to put him in.

I for one absolutely love your choices!!! They would be mine as well!

Solid choices-the Mount Rushmore of a hunting room!

Solid choices. Also, it’s YOUR wall and YOUR choice of selection, so don’t be bothered if someone says Papa wasn’t just famous for Africa content.

As far as the print size, you could probably look around for the best high resolution file and have a custom size print made from a number of places. If you can identify the frames you want, you may come out ahead on having them printed to fit those rather than the other way around. Same goes for printing on canvas, etc.

Looking forward to seeing the end result of whatever you decide.

So you're saying the dogs playing cards didn't make the cut.............

One photo should be of you with your favorite trophy.

Where are you getting these made?

Agree…I have a picture of me with each of my big 5…just missing my leopard going for second try in 27. I get more comments on my pictures than my actual trophies. Here is my lion

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
