A-Frame or TSX. Both have worked perfectly in 300 gr from a wee little .375  on all sorts of game to include buffalo.

My first in the Caprivi. He was quartering toward us as he rose from his bed. At the shot he dropped right back into it. The bullet transited the heart. Enough gun and the right bullet in the right place has a habit of being lethal.View attachment 737541

Hollywood looks Sir.

The Barnes TSX. Has worked on everything from Impala to Buffalo and Giraffe.
That would also be dependent on the regulation of the rifle.
The Hornady DGX would be the last choice.
6 rounds into a Buffalo with no pass through only one stayed intact enough for recovery.
The Giraffe that was shot with the DGX the bullet came apart.
Both animals were dead.
The Buffalo would have gone side ways if the PH had not stoped the charge with a 500 NE.
Needless to say I was mildly disappointed that I did not get to join in on killing my buddies Buffalo. You know that no matter what it would have been my shot that killed his Buffalo and saved his life. He would have owed me drinks for a pretty good while.

Absolute no experience, but read a lot and sene Youtube. Cast a vote for A-frame, will likely stop on the other side = bether when animals are together. Barnes TSX flat base is the best, but will blast through the animal = watch back stop (flat base = most stable flight path at shorter ranges. BT base is most stable from about 200m and from there most precise). Woodleigh hydrostatic is the best solid, but other flat nose is ok.

Were these the new bonded DGX or the old ones?

I’ve shot several with 375 and Swift A frames and Barnes Monolithic and 416 Barnes Monolithic. They run an extra 100 yds or so with a solid from what I can tell. Most important is the first shot in boiler room and their gonna die!

I've shot a cow and bull Cape Buffalo, both with factory Barnes 300 Grs TSX. On the cow, the bullet passed, and on the bull the bullet was under the skin on the other side. Here is a picture of the recovered bullet.

I will be using Woodleigh RNSN hand loads July 2027 for buff in Zimbabwe in my .470ne.

I was able to get the ATF to issue me an import permit and wait for woodleigh to rebuild their factory and then ship the bullets to the opposite side of the earth easier and faster than trying to locate A-Frames!

Impressive, did shipping and everything put together jack up the price significantly, or still workable

My PH said that he had never had a bad experience with Hornady DGX or DGS.

I had a one shot kill with a DGX...

I, intentionally, shot through bone in order to make him less mobile.

Woodleigh wouldn’t ship to me directly, so had to order through an OZ company willing to ship.

Currency exchange rate for the purchase more than offset the shipping; so I was able to import a lifetime supply for less per box than Huntington’s was charging when they had them in stock.

How hard was it to get the permit?

You earned it. I’m sure you had to jump hoops to get it over. I appreciate you sending me few as a goodwill gesture. Appreciate that very much!

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
