Rifle dialed in and packed, check.
Ammo packed, check.
Boots broken in, check.
Been walking 4-6 miles every day for months now, check.
Reviewed the Perfect Shot one last time, check.
Wife reassured, check.

Flight, you are cleared for launch. Commence primary ignition sequence!

Thought at the end you were about to launch into ground control to major Tom in a Bowie impersonation :A Thumbs Up:

I need your tips on how to reassure the wife :)

Whether it’s Africa or just a weekend trip to hunt pheasants, my wife always thinks I’m gonna die on my trips

Good luck!!

First I had to show her how to use the TV remote......

Then we talked about how to descale the coffee machine and what days the trash picks up.

I decided it was best not to teach her how to set the thermostat......

;)

Excellent, looking forward to following along

One year from today I'll be 5 days into a buffalo and eland trip to Zimbabwe. While I am absolutely chuffed for all of these departure notes, it is also a painful type of torture. Everybody be safe, have a ton of fun and shoot straight. Pictures and reports are our just reward.

And my wife has also suggested that I am trying to exit our marriage by death with my Africa trips...and I've only even been once. Im really hoping she doesn't Google "black death".

Most of my hunts are solo — just me, my rifle, and a good map. Sometimes I tag along with an old buddy for a week in Zimbabwe or South Africa, but more often than not, it’s just me.
Big fan of classic hunting — bolt-action rifles, old-school tracking, and taking the time to really be in the moment.
Just did a podcast, check it out if interested!
