Now I could not afford to have any taxidermy done on my first safaris but instead opted for skulls and skin's which I think look great and are a very good cost effective way to have your trophy's mounted and less of the fear of how will my mounts turn out! When mounted along side a few pictures it really brings them together.

It has got me thinking, what other ways are there to have my animals mounted to show them off and remind you of Africa?

Im sure people have had things done with horns and tusks etc.

yup but why , doesn't anyone get the bottom jaw in on the deal .
when I ask karroo to leave the bottom jaw on the impala skull mount I ordered , they looked stunned ,I'll be upset if they didn't leave it there, as mine will hung from a skull hanger , not a lovely plaque

I guess it just a matter of preference. In the UK most people don't with them, and cut the skull long nose to mounted on a plaque.

Thanks for all the links guys! Some really cool stuff people have had done. I was wondering if its possible to have engravings done into warthog tusks for example? Then prehaps have a gun smith cut out some wood on the stock of you rifle and have it fitted in..

I am thinking about having my springbok backskin made into a pistol case. I hope it will be large enough for a T/C Encore with a 16" barrel. I have an Impala flatskin I might put together with a skull mount like they did above,
