What are you reading?

Finishing up History of Smith and Wesson and African Rifles and Cartridges to start Safari Rifles by Boddington.

Also have 7-10 other books I’m picking through.

Terrible Swift Sword in an audiobook.

I have coffee every morning in my library so I’m reading alot.

Just finished "One man safari" by Hans Otto Meissner.

Currently reading "With rifle in five continents" by Paul Niedieck.

Currently reading commander D.E. Blunt’s «ELEPHANT».
Very innteresting read. Highly recomended.
I think this guy is among the first to have developed techniques to hunt crop raiders at night. Sorry for totally screwing up rotating pic correctly
Would you mind sharing a photo of the table of contents? I don't have that book.

Unrepentant sinner
Colonel Charles askins

I read a lot for both work and hobbies. Right now, I'm enjoying Horned Giants by John Brandt. Wild bovines are a particular interest of mine.
Putting this one on my list. Looks very interesting.

Here's the chapter headings for Horned Giants...

Enclosed. My father vaguely knew David Blunts son Nicky as he and also John Northcote frequented City Bar in Kampala between hunts in the late sixties.

Finished Matthew and on to Mark

I’ve truly felt led to start reading the Bible in the past few months. I’ve realized that, although I have heard and listened to others’ accounts at various points in my life, mostly through forced church attendance during my childhood, I have never invested myself into reading the Word of God, and have lived my life off the narrow path as somewhat of a “practicing acknowledger” rather than as a servant of and believer in Jesus Christ. I have been undeservedly changed, not of my own merits, but rather through the sacrifice made for me.

Finished book 3 of Thomson his memoirs, book is called In the shadow of Nyaminyami . Another great book in the series. About the consequences of filling up lake Kariba for the people and wildlife and the aftermath. Thomson gets stationed there in the beginning of the filling of the lake. Cannot overstate how good his books are.

Was on holiday so enough time to read.

Finished another classic, Ray Bradbury's classical dystopian sci fi novel called Fahrenheit 451. (The alleged temperature when paper begins to burn.) Mediocre at best.

Currently reading Journey to the end of the night by Louis-Ferdinand Céline. Somewhat autobiographical book of his time in WW I, working in the French colonies and going to America. Love it, it is raw, vile, pessimistic in a beautiful way.

"Pirate Hunters" - Robert Kurson

It chronicles John Chatterton and John Mattera's quest to find Bannister's ship, The Golden Fleece, in the Dominican Republic.

I've read both "Deep Descent" and "Shadow Divers" (also by Robert Kurson). Very good books.

Had the pleasure of diving next to Chatterton when I first got into diving in 2005.
Very much enjoyed that one. Love a good treasure hunt.
African Game Trails by Teddy is my current volume.

"One Second After" about an EMP attack...shiver me timbers!

First thing I would do if it happened would be move out of Texas--too hot for no A/C, lol

I generally read a varied range of books, fiction and non fiction, I usually have about 3 to 5 books going at once, big fan of science fiction...Asimov, Harry Harrison, Clarke, etc...or a good adventure yarn.
Currently reading "Wanderlust" the biography of Peter Freuchen the Danish explorer.
