I've decided that since Tina has been such a good girl this year, I'm buying her a new Bass Boat, and a new Rifle.

Given that she loves to hunt and fish, you'd think she would be overjoyed with such generous gifts.

See, she likes the canoe she bought a few years ago. It reminds her of her youth in New England, and fits neatly in the garage. It also works to her advantage because she sits up front catching all the fish, while I paddle in the back. I figured what she really needs is something larger, more comfortable, and has a trolling motor. ;)

Who cares that we don't have a place to put it. :E Doh:

She figures we don't need any more rifles, but I disagree. She loves to go squirrel hunting in September, but she doesn't have a proper purpose built rifle for the job. Something say in a 17 caliber. Why should it matter that we have 2 gun safes and several closets full of other guns?

Change my mind. :D

My wife has FAR more firearms than I do... she'll never complain about me adding another one to her pile.. where I've started going more of a minimalist route the last few years and have tried to start consolidating calibers, culling the herd a bit, etc.. shes gone the exact opposite direction.. she wants one of everything lol..

She also loves jewelry... so Christmas is pretty easy around here.. if I cant come up with a gun or some sort of fishing idea, I just hit the tiffany website and find something in a teal blue box that she'll like..

As a last resort, if I cant figure out a hunting, fishing, or blue jewelry box solution... she also loves to travel.. I go book a 3 or 4 day get away somewhere that I know she'll like..

A classic . . .

I tried talking my wife into a new or used Corvette E-ray for Christmas because they are faster off the line and AWD for three season use here in Colorado. She needs a new car but she was having none of it!

And to think she accused me of just wanting it for her so I could drive it myself?!!?:A Secret:

You and I think alike. I’ve given my wife several pieces of Tiffany and she loves them. Pick a classic design and they are lifetime items.

She buys a thing and I buy a thing, for ourselves and it goes under the tree.

A contact I have does custom woodwork-he’s doing a couple custom design cutting boards for my wife and my married daughter. I like to send mixed messages with my gifts, keeps them guessing.
I’m also getting her some folding rocking chairs for the outdoors-but that’s what she asked for so that’s not as much fun-for me at least

Let her pick out a tennis bracelet, but did it too early....she agreed it was for Christmas, but now wants one of those special watches, too. Timing is everything, sigh.

My wife likes to shoot, but not hunt. She has three DA pistols and shoots well, but all she wants is jewelry, going out to eat and travel.

I saw a Bernese Mountain dog pup protesting to a walk a few nights ago in the neighborhood here in Rheinland Pfalz. He was huge.

I am sure your St. Bernhard is wonderful.

Heck that depends on what she does for me before I go shopping for her
She usually has a few wishlist ideas for Xmas,

I was even thinking about CoolPeel Laser treatments while debating this. Why should it matter that we have 2 gun safes and several closets full of other guns?

It sounds like Tina values her canoe for the memories and comfort it brings, so a bigger bass boat or another rifle might not be as meaningful. Sometimes the best gifts are experiences, like a guided fishing trip or a hunting weekend, that enhance what she already loves without adding clutter.

Stop that. You are attempting to inject logic into an emotional argument.

Two days ago she said a Scorpyd Crossbow might be a good gift idea, or a Leica clip-on thermal imager. I think she's a keeper.

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
