Every time I see one of your ads I am more and more tempted, but have never been to Texas.

Couple of questions. What is a good time to come for a Canadian who doesn't like the heat very much?

If I can't bring the meat home what happens to it?

BTW, great choice to include the food pics. I put on weight just looking at them but they really increase the temptation.

Hello, November through early March is a really good time. Late October through December is very mild and pleasant. I’m in the panhandle so Jan and February can either be very pleasant or 5 degrees F with a 40mph wind. You never know.
Any big game animals that the clients don’t take we either give to local families or butcher for camp purposes. Feral pigs we feed to the coyotes as not many folks will eat them but all the big game gets utilized.
We’d love to have you, you can fly in to either Lubbock or Amarillo and we’ll pick you up and drop you off. We have nice rifles you can use so you don’t have to hassle with flying with a rifle unless you want to. Please reach out if we can help. Cheers

how big is your area? looks awesome! can you give me an idea on taxidermy?
The ranch total is about 3k acres. The hf portion we run the exotic hunts in I have never surveyed but the fence is about a mile and a half long by about a mile deep or so. It’s all rough canyon and extremely challenging terrain. I’ve never had someone mention the fence was an issue in any way but different strokes for different folks. It’s a very physical hunt so good thorn proof hiking boots with good ankle support is a must. There are a ton of folks here as well as another outfitter on AH that have hunted Aoudad with us. I will let them speak as to the experience and such. You also have the opportunity to hunt unlimited feral pigs after your big game animal is down if there is time, free of charge.

I will vouch for its no cake walk on @gizmo place. I spent 3 full days one cold January chasing bison and aoudad. We came close several times, but never got a clear shot on one. It’s canyons and flats mixed. I saw one Aoudad that made my mouth water, saw at distance several times but never could get within range. The food was worth it tho!! Kelly will feed you well! The fence never was an issue for me.

I helped Erik with some hunts before, you get beyond the gate and you forget you’re in a high fence pretty quickly. It’s very rough country, leading to rolling hills and some small fields. Last summer we hunted hard and put in some 10-12 mile days, saw a ton of aoudad. Saw several rams get missed. It’s not like the small high fence “ranches” in the hill country, this is a real deal hunt. There’s animals on that ranch no one knows exists. I wish I’d had my digiscope and spotter a few times. Glassed up an absolute giant, all scard up, gray in the face. Ears shredding from fighting. Magnificent trophy. Was a shame to watch him tuck back in the canyon after a couple bullets sailed around him.

high fences dont bother me as long as the area is big. sounds like this is good sized.

Hay all

I did a hunt there for aoudad
It was absolutely great
The terrain is very rough lot of canyons and hard bush
The animals disappear in those canyons all the time
I had a great experience and a really good challenging hunt
Good people, good food, cool lodge, good hunting be hard pressed to do better elsewhere

I'm not that far up the road --- can i just make dinner reservations for the next time I'm driving southwest?

If we don’t have clients at the time I’d be willing to bet we can make that happen.

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
