Looking for a 12 gauge vent rib barrel 26 or 28 inches in length. Improved Cylinder or Modified choke. 26" I/C is my first choice. Must be a Wingmaster blued barrel. Not interested in any Express, Special Purpose or rusty barrels. Must be in decent shape inside and out.

Tom

Thanks for the suggestion but I've already checked gunbroker. Nothing there is what I want. Most of the barrels seem to be Express or some type of matte finish.

Here is another site that has barrels.

As for the blueing, you are most likely going to have to have it reblued no matter what you find. That is unless you find one new in a box.

Good for you. From an individual or a commercial location? What length and choke did you wind up with? Mine has a 32" barrel with a full choke, I purchased it in 1968 0r 69.

28" modified wingmaster with a vent rib. Purchased from an individual over on another forum. I have an old wingmaster which I bought when I was a teenager back in the early 60's. My first shotgun. It had the old corncob forend and a plain barrel with a polychoke. I picked up a stock from a Rem. 1100, which fits the 870 as well, for $15 at an auction. That got me started on the project to refresh my old 870. Now I just need a forend.

I took a look at a "newer" 870, what a "POS" by comparison. I also have a Hastings rifled barrel that shoots slugs very well. In close quarters i.e. swamps and dense woods those slugs are devastating on white tails.

I agree with you on the Rem. Express being a POS. That however is all you see in gun shops these days. Rem. still makes the Wingmaster but you never see them. Probably due to the price. When people ask me for advice on buying a pump shotgun I always tell them to look for a used Wingmaster instead of a new Express.

Labman, Dittos on that!! I have a couple of old Mossberg 500 20 Ga. pumps that I used for my Hunter Education classes. I think that they are better than the new Remington Express.

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
